Rear bumper paint mod

Has anyone ever painted the lower part of their rear bumper black like this below (sorry for the really bad microsoft paint job here)?

It looks like crap on this pic, but if anyone has done it, and it looks clean, I'd like to see pics of it before I attempt doing it...

I also want to replace the trunk spoiler with a trunk lip, and paint it black. I also have 35% window tint all around so it'll match with the windows...

I think it would look a little more aggressive than this...

Some one did this a while back, can't recall who though. IMO Just buy an Mtech bumper, It would look worlds better, yes a bit more costly, but you can throw a sexy ass diffuser on it and make that rear look sick!

No doubt the m-tech would look much better, but I'm not sure I want to fork out five or six benjamins for it and some for the paint job... I think I'll try with plasti dip first to see how it comes out...

Was just about to come back in and say that, use plastidip. There was a guy in an LCI E90 did it.

I just don't know how plasti dip will react so close to the heat from the exhaust...

I believe so, and plasti-derp should be fine, I've seen people dip their actual exhaust, they said it actually bakes the plasti dip on. So i'd be more worried about getting off then it staying on. Should be a non-issue tho.

I'll try with plasti-dip first... the good thing about it is that it's reversible if it comes out looking like crap...
