lame

but really, it probably makes more sense than buying a 325 and trying to turn it into a 330. there's usually more to the higher end cars than just the engine.

Yer I only got my 325 because it was going really cheap and just done the conversion because I could and didn't cost me much. Not too much different with the 335 besides the brakes and different ratios. Iv put uprated 335 brakes on my car anyway :-)

look for the servos on the manifold for the flaps. I belive your car has the n52 engine so its a bit different to this and i think all it requires is a remap.

Hi there. Don't mean to hijack this thread but I have a somewhat similar question......
I am also searching to undertake a N52 325 to 330 swap .... but with a "twist" on the OP thread.
My car is an Australian 2011 car with black top 2.5 litre engine and I wish to swap out the engine for the 3 litre black top engine. So that's remove the N52B25 and install the N52B30. Both engines already have the 3 stage DISA.
Anyone here tried this?
Pretty sure both have the same MSV80 DME.
But are the wiring harnesses the same, and is the engine likely to run satisfactorily on the original dme?

I think this was covered a few pages back.

This can work but the DME from the doner car will not work in yours. You would need the CAS/EWS, keys and lock to make the swap. Also some Coding required.

An easier approach would be to send your original 325 DME to someone like AA who should be able to flash a "tuned" 330/328 file into it. You'll be buying hardware or tuners services anyways, might as well have a tuned version when you are done.

I think someone mentioned it would be better to sell of the 325 and purchase a 335.

Yer I agree with the sell it and buy a 335 route. You will put so much money into it doing and engine swap.

Hi essex_lad,

Im doing the same modification to a E91 325I N53 engined car.

I have got the manifold which was hard to find, I have contacted Auto Enhance who seem to be the only outfit that have any experience of this...

I just wondered what your experience was like with them? Did they just slap the Mosselman map on the car? was there any fine tuning?

Also have you had your car on a rolling road to confirm the power output?

thanks
Will

Sorry for the late reply guys, I have been really busy.

Auto enhance / M style are a bunch of good guys in my opinion, just a tad expensive.

Regarding the tune what they told me was they sent my cars details and map over to mosselman, they messed around with it then auto enhance loaded it back onto the ecu. There was an instant difference in power and how responsive the car is to be honest. I do keep meaning to get the car put onto a rolling road but it's just one of them things you keep putting off lol.

So far I think auto enhance are the only ones doing it, hence why they can charge so much for it.

The first step is to figure out which engine you have. You should be able to find the answer with a VIN decoder and/or the parts catalog.
