Vargas Turbo Stage 2 / 3 update
Hey guys, hope you all had a great Christmas. Im supposed to be on vacation but I'm spending this time getting stage 3 done. Dp's are now done and fully tacked. Installed in car and with subframe all clears... Need to do charge pipes and water pipe / pump and will be ready to fire it. Before anyone says anything, no that is not the final orientation for the rear compressor housing. As for stage 2, got an email today. All parts I was waiting for EXCEPT flappers are shipping tomorrow. Take about 2-3 days to get them, then its wait on the flappers and assemble. So things are looking good. As always I appreciate your patience. Have a safe and blessed New Year.
Edit: Don't mind the multiple tacks all over the front DP. My fabricator is on vacation so I just fabbed it myself. My tacks are no where near as nice as his from the rear DP. But hey I got it done... Last edited by Tony@vargasturbotech; 12-26-2012 at 11:20 PM.. |

Beautiful. We appreciate your working on this instead of vacationing and look forward to seeing this in action!

Looks awesome man, definitely appreciated!
Is that DP a full 4" or more?.... looks huge! Would you also be making an option for a single exhaust? By that I mean not splitting into two 2.5" sections for the OEM exhaust. I'd think you could run a full 4" back to the mufflers and then split. |

well would having a straight 3 inch pipe all the way back have a huge increase in flow or will it not matter? because I just feel as if the tape to 2.5 inch would restrict some airflow as it was meant more for the smaller stock twins.
if you made it 3 inch straight back i am sure there would be plenty of people who would want it that way if there were significant gains. cause all it would take is making a custom exhaust that is fully 3 inches back and if someone is investing this much money into turbos im sure they are willing to shell out an additional $1500 for a custom setup. my turbo seals are leaking so it is time for me to upgrade turbos, also an excuse to upgrade lol because the leak isnt so bad. so if everything fires up and good to go when would you be selling these kits?

So the stage 3 DPs would hook up to the stock exhaust at the midpipes? That would be perfect because we could run our stock exhaust or almost any aftermarket exhaust.

+1, it's greatly appreciated! Can't wait to get rid of these rattling turbos!
Hopefully that will be my expression in a few months.

One option that would be great....
For those that want to at least be somewhat compliant is catted downpipes..... I know, I know, but without them you have a high probability of being totally screwed if you do this upgrade in Ca. |
