Need advice on under seat subs
I wanted to know if I can run my under seat subs as a dedicated mid bass woofer. Also what frequency range will they play flat at......
Also thinking about upgrading to these in the future http://www.helixhifi.com/products/pr...item_id=599212

It would help to know what system you have...
If base, I wouldn't recommend it. If HiFi or HK, you can do it as already suggested. There is a MB Quart 3-way system available for 500, including door speakers, tweeters, crossovers and underseat woofers. Plug n play.

Koo thanks. My amp is great for active set ups so I'm able to bandpass it. I'm gonna try that today to see what it sounds like

If you have a trunk sub you want the underseats playing from around 50-60hz up to around 200hz, and the trunk sub should play from 50-60hz down. Jehnerts are a good option if you're only using them for midbass.

Why not use the OEM woofers? They reportedly do very well with some added, responsible power.

Yea i have a truck sub so I was wanting to use the underseat woofers for a dedicated mid bass woofer so I can cut out some of the midbass from my 4" mids. Also just wanted to see how high they can play flat to. So 200hz is no problem for them, how bout the jehnerts woofers, how do they like to be xover. I'm guessing the same...... thanks for the info

Thanks man..... I'm gonna look into those, seems like everyone's choice. I feel like I'm gonna Def need an aftermarket choice after I install my new trunk sub, Def gonna be a lot more power and I'm tuning the enclosure at 30hz so I'm gonna need that midbass for sure.....

Try the OEM's first
Hey man,
Before you make the plunge in buying the jehnerts, I would totally try amping up the OEM woofers first. I know the opinions of everyone about jehnerts, and there is nothing bad to say about them at all! So don't get me wrong. All I'm saying is, I really don't feel a need to have better midbass after powering my OEM woofers with 100 watts of clean power. The only reason I would purchase jehnerts for myself is due to the curiosity. |

Glad ya ended up liking it. They are pretty well built woofers and I have been pushing em with more and more power as well, as long as they don't go tooo low (probably below 80hz) they could stay safe with a ton of power. What kind of trunk sub setup are you planning on?
