New JB3 options!! (and explanations)

BMS has extended the options availible with the jb3, so that you can create your own "bundle"... and I wanted to list them, and their technical explinations, to try and help everyone understand each option.

Bundling is smart, because you can save on shipping

You can see the new options here:
http://www.rixeffects.com/store/juicebox3

In depth info about the jb3 is here:
http://www.rixeffects.com/store/jb3

1. ECU compatibility: (v81/29.2+ or pre-29.2 ONLY)

I get the most questions about this one... its pretty simple actually. All it does is help us decide which method of fueling is best for your vehicle... but you can always choose the v81/29.2+ version to be safe, as it works on both. Just make sure that if you order the pre-29.2 version, that you are SURE your have a software version before 29.2, which was released march of 2008. Check your driver side door for build date, and make sure you have not had any software updates after then.

2. Harness: (Pinout version, or PNP)

The difference is pretty simple. The Pin Out is similar to Stage 1 and Stage 2... it still uses OEM pins, and is completely removable with no traces, although its suggested for experienced enthusiasts only, because playing with wires can be a bit tedious... No cutting required for the pin out and you can be updated to the Plug and Play harness at a later time by purchasing the PnP upgrade. The PNP version simply lets you replace the ENTIRE subconnectors in the ECU, rather than each individual wire. Both accomplish the same goal. Upgrading to PNP later is EASY... see here: http://www.burgertuning.com/instruct...np_upgrade.pdf

3. Map Switch
Right now you have the option to add the basic 3 position map switch, which plugs directly into the jb3, and sits in the engine bay, just outside the ecu, for only 22 dollars, and it will ship in the same box as your jb3. More info on the switch is here: http://www.rixeffects.com/store/node/32

4. Intake
Add an intake, and you can combine shipping costs, and get more power and sound out of your n54

So, I hope that clears things up...

-Rick

We have dyno's of stock cars with just jb3, but none to compare gains of the intake on a jb3 only car at the moment... but gains will be similar to testing that was done on our jb2hr car, since peak boost is similar. See this page for those dyno's:

Terry's 135i did 345rwhp/360rwtrq with the JB3 only on the v81 ecu.

Terry's 135i was a JB3 only at the time of the first dyno Rick.

There is no difference between a jb3 upgraded to pnp, and a unit that started out as a PNP. They are exactly the same unit once the harness is added.

Sorry about that, I thought he said with and without an intake.

I know there is no difference but if i was to get the pin-out, i dont see a point in getting PNP upgrade other than the fact that when i want to sell it the value retains higher compared to a non PNP..

and im also lazy to do the Pin out unless someone in the same city as me can help which i doubt cuz we only have 1 guy with JB3 here..

What a lot of our customers do is take the time to install the pinout version the first time, or have a shop do it for ya... and order the PNP upgrade. Then the first time you need to remove it for going to the dealer, pop on your pnp upgrade, and then you can install and remove faster next time

Its not as scary as it sounds, until the stage3 and version3 tunes, pnp never even existed...

The v81/29.2+ version of the jb3 works on all software versions to date... several of our customers have the 30.x versions as well.
