headlights messing up radio signals? strange

You guys might think im crazy but lately my radio has been coming in pretty shitty.On my e46's the rear defrost messed up radio signals so I was trying to figure out what might be causing it in this car.While the radio was on I was turning things off and on hoping to figure it out.The last thing I turned off and on was the headlights and sure enough thats what it was.When they were off it was perfect.When I turned them on it was coming on terribly.Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? (doubt it) what the hell can I do about this.I have lux 4.0 but im sure it has nothing to do with it.Always something. craziness. Any opinions would be appreciated.thanks

I have confirmed its definately the lights messing up the radio signals.I have lux 4.0 installed.Do you think I should remove it before going to the dealer.Maybe lux 4.0 is taking power away from the signal...maybe im completely crazy.Who knows

Any ideas????

I've not noticed it on my car, but stranger things have happened

I'm not familiar with lux 4.0; did it require a ballast? If so, that could be leaking noise into your electrical system. It's also conceivable that your HID ballasts are being noisy (if you have Xenons), and I'm sure that'd be a warranty issue if it were the case.

If your lux is causing it you might be able to work around it by putting noise filters on the power and/or ground lines going to the Lux. I'd ping your vendor on it for more info.

give it time, someone will respond. you also posted this in someone else's thread too.. guess you'll have to drive with either your headlights off or your radio off.

i havent really noticed this at all. i noticed this thread a while ago just never had time to respond.

does it make a difference if you turn on / off your parking lamps and notice an instant difference?

instant difference.A perfectly strong bassy radio station loses almost all reception when you switch on any light.

Why don't you try taking out the "lux" (whatever that is) and see if your prob goes away? I don't have any issues with radio reception on my stock car.
