Who is running downpipes and still have their car under warranty?
I really want to get a set of downpipes, but I am just worried about the warranty.. I have read just about every thread on this topic, but everyone pretty much says that they will void your warranty.
So are there any people out there with downpipes who still have their car covered under warranty? |

BMW likes to void warranty it seems. Hell people are afraid to hardwire a damn sat radio tuner.
Catless downs are a sure way for them to do it... Thats why Im going with the VK FMIC, A Stett CAI, piggyback tune and Flanged custom exhaust. I'll even be taking my boost gauge out for service. Not going to give the bastards a reason. If you are under warranty, my opinion is, only install what you can remove in your garage or driveway in an 8 hour day. Im not stupid. My HPFP WILL fail. And Im not going to pay for it becasue they find a performance mod. |

The ONLY thing that concerns me is if it fails on a road trip, which I do about 4-5 times a year, 1000 miles round trip. I cant remove mods on the road- This is my only concern.
However hopefully the HPFP will give me fair warning before it goes... |

Triple A... AAA...
Everyone should have this if they are modding their car. If I break down they will come get my car and tow it up to 200 miles.

I would be more concerned about an aftermarket intake affecting my warranty than my dps.
DPS are at the end of the line... the only thing they can arguably damage would be the pieces after them... the exhaust? Give me 1 example where BMW has completely voided the power train warranty on a bmw with dps... No way. Tune, meth, and intake will come out when I have service.. the FMIC and dps aren't coming out for anything less than major warranty work.

I drive an 09' with roadside assistance, and still renew my AAA. If I break down AAA gets my call...

I know someone who got their HPFP replaced under warranty with their downpipes on the car.
