Where are you getting this? Is it an error or a stored code?

And to answer your question, yes it works, but make sure the ign is on and the procede is in valet mode.

now that you mentioned it, I think you're right, but the point still stands, can we code the coolant temperature to show up similar to digital speed?

Anybody knows how to add/delete a DRL submenu (ON/OFF) in the CIC iDrive settings?
i.e. I am trying to find the similar code to "DAY_RUN_LIGHT_CCC" in CCC(CAPPL).

Edit---------------

Solved!
"DAYDRIVING_LIGHT" in CIC from "perm_off" to "standard"
Added in the spreadsheet.

Make coding a new sections!!

why are we talking about everything here? can a section be made where we can have threads like;
Beginners- people that are just getting into coding that need help with cables software ect.
average - people that are now coding and talk about code line and procedures on how to change setting in your car.
Advance- people that can write code and people who are trying to make our cars way cooler.
I am sure a smarter person than me can come up with better sub-threads.

what I can see is that this thread is not organized and therefore some questions just dont get an answer. I think some where in page 30+ someone was talking about it but nothing ever came about.
Is there someone in this thread that can make something happen?

I know I posted about this very same thing at least twice - where someone should get in touch with appropriate person and get a 'Coding' section put in under the Technical Forums with different sub-forums under just as you mentioned. Generally There were no replies

I'm sure some moderator is viewing this thread and has seen such posts, but I have heard nothing.

I'm still not quite sure how the forum looks at this thread - sometimes they get funny about detailed threads such as this with file downloads, explicit instrucions, etc. that teach members how to do something that paying forum sponsors offer...

There will ALWAYS be those that this is just to complicated, don't want to take the time to learn, don't feel comfortable coding, etc that will search out the experienced sponsors to do it for them. And then there will be the adventurous

I know I taught myself how to tune my GM cars using HPTuners with alot of credit going to the tuning forums within LS1Tech, LS1.com, and just plain ole' fashioned trail & error.

Those forums had many paying sponsors that did tuning, but they had no problem with setting it up for regular members to discuss in earnest.

Actually, the moderators on this forum are fairly ez going and not too many rules - I hardly ever see any intervention by moderators for any reason. The aforementioned GM forum moderators were hell on wheels some times.

Tuning the entire engine operating parameters on those cars was way more involved/dangerous than this simple 'On/OFF' coding.

Toughest part in this was the parameters being in German - you'd think after 4yrs of German language lessons, working/interacting with Germans every day for 6yrs, I would have retained something. But after all that, only aspects I'm versed in is counting & swearing

Setting this up is not something the average member can do - it will need the approval of forum moderators and setup by them.

It would simply be nice if we could get either a 'Yay' or 'nay' as to whether this is possible, or whether they look at this as stepping on sponsors toes...

I personally don't have the slightest idea as to whom to even contact with the proposal

If it wasn't for this FAQ I would have not got it working. Thanks so much! OP you should really put a link to this FAQ in the first post. Really helpful!

On most cars, I understand there are already 2 wires in place (the 2 yellow wires on the opposite side of clock spring) for which the only purpose as I see it is paddles. With the proper code, these should work with the paddles right away, eliminating the need for running wires to the shifter.

EDIT: Permanent golf tee mod also possible
...I'm sure once I get my cable I'll be experimenting for a while, very happy that this thread exists, it will hopefully save me quite a bit of money resolving this #@$% steering lock I'm fed up with...
Now I know what you're talking about. Yes, my car has the wires in the right place as well, and yes, I agree, it does make sense that they should be for paddles - since those are the ones you're supposed to tap into to make it work directly anyway.

Is it possible adding ZSP (sport package) to the car's VO will enable paddle shift?

Would people be interested if I created and hosted a new forum all together for coding on E90's? That way we could create as many subforums as necessary, without cluttering up e90post.

Just a thought...

Such a forum exists already, I'm a mod there (see my sig). It's not SPECTACULARLY active, but there is good info there too.
