Thanks for the clearup on the fiberglass, though it does seem like E92kits' fg is pretty strong. |

My concern would be the fitment. I like the front but the back reminds me of a TL assuming it will get painted in the lower exhaust area black.

And then the servers are back up...=) The kit getting primered...
The shop said that this is one of the best fiberglass kits they had to deal with...no cracking or damages...meaning minimal prep work before primer... They showed me some other kits they were doing including a G35, which they basically had to fully repair before it could get primered... Then after that sand it down... The process takes quite a lot time...it's not as quick as you think... Here's what it looks like right before paint... Windshield wiper jets opening... They also jacked my gas cap to do some color matching... Several hours later...several layers of Monaco Blue A35...and clear coats... Diffusor... Then the kit goes outside to get polished... It gets hit with 2000 grade sand paper...which makes it nice and shiny... But then there's also the CF diffusor...! I'll have to take care of the PDC today...another 335i was in the shop for some rear bumper fixing...so i took a look at his pdc... I'll have to glue these white brackets on to the bumper... That's it for now...installing the kit today...more updates tonight!

It's not that I want to tease u guys...but ur gonna have to wait till bimmerfest to see the final product...just kidding...I wouldn't do that...=p
Today was one of those crazy days...trying to get everything to work together before saturaday...Removing the rear bumper... Bunch of bolts u need to take out... Take out the rear tails too... Put on some purple medical gloves... Then there's the hard bolt by the wheel... Clips under the tails... Pop out the sides...this was a pain...its hard to take it out without messing up the rear bumper... And finally...its off... I was really worried about the rear pdc...maybe the cut the holes too small...maybe the thickness of the bumper too thin and the sensor won't sit flush...took the existing bracket off... Fixed it up... Put it on the new bumper... It's a miracle...its perfect... Now after that was done...had to put on the CF diffusor... Well long story short...the fitment wasn't perfect...few things had to be trimmed and holes drilled...I think in the production version this will all be fine... This is why trimming is necessary... Fitting to spec... After a bunch of vices... It comes with 5 bolts...but I don't think that is enough...we added a few more for cheap insurance... Bumper is in once piece! Back on to the car... Some gaps but...we were able to push that in a bit... Fitment is good...I give it a 8/10 for the rear...fits better than rieger ABS plastic bumpers... Now for the front...remove a bunch of everything... The whole thing comes out pretty easily...then I realized that I don't have windshield jets... Stock front has pre templated PDC fronts...kinda nice... Remove the grills... We tried fitting the grills on to the M5 bumper but we had very little luck...the tabs were too big in some places and too small in some places... We figured the best way to get it not to wiggle was to just glow the sucker in there...just how i did the E46... We took a lunch break...and let it dry... After lunch we had to drill some holes in the bumper to match factory... Transferred all the clips over... Had to make a few more modifications...the tabs on the OEM bumper have a step...where as the M5 didn't...they aren't that important anyway... Tried to fit the bumper...it didn't really work out that well...since the OEM bumper is plastic it has quite a bit of flex which lets u wrap it around the front very easily... Fiberglass is more stiff...so u have to be VERY VERY careful when installing this... We ended up removing both fender lines and the wheels to make things easier...after some adjustment it'll pop into place... Closed the hood...checked those lines...they are good... Holes under the front are fine... Then we put back the fender liners... On to the sides... I give these a 9/10...take off...put on...everything matched... And finally...we have the final product... Alignment tomorrow...drop the back some more...drive to bimmerfest...see you saturday!
