idrive crashing

So i know that my 06 325i e90 reboots its idrive every once in awhile (crashing), but have you guys heard of two crashes in one day and 3 in the last two days? Do you guys have any idea whats going on? help please!!

Sounds like the unit is on its way out.

Before taking it into a shop, go over the whole MOST loop system. It's a fiber optic system that carries data from one module to the other. The head unit is on this loop as well as the TCU (or MULF), Sirius SAT, L7 amp, etc.

If the loop gets interrupted, it will freeze the system. Check all the connections make sure they are seated correctly.

Has the car ever been in an accident? If the fiber optic cable snapped but is still held together from the insulation, it can cause intermittent errors while driving since the data transmission will break momentarily but quickly recover itself.

it has not, but started acting up as of lately, which is weird.
