They dont work on weekends. When there is a high volume of Priority 1 cars they will work on Saturdays but that's it.

Your car has to clear customs before it hits the VPC, no?

i wouldnt worry to much about this weekend. after docking, its really hard to tell where the car is and most people get different info between the ca, bmwna, and oc.

I thought that only ED cars go through customs.

And if you are unlucky, sometimes the entire load goes through customs due to random inspections?

Hopefully they start getting these cars prepped on Monday morning!

the ed cars and non ed cars definitely go through two different processes.. non-ed cars probably go through customs but are not as carefully inspected?

The dealer said the work order to release it to carrier was dated 7/09, so I hope it makes it here by the weekend.

The dealer also mentioned that our two cars docked at different ports in NY (I did notice that the Freedom voyage site did list two entries for NY). He said that my car was unloaded first and my friend's car was unloaded a day later. It must have to do with different processes for clearing customs. This may explain why the European Delivery cars can seem to be hung up at the VPC for a long time. Anyway, those on the Freedom probably can expect their cars soon.

According to my CA his system it stated that my car was released on the 17th for delivery to the dealer and would have a probable delivery date of the 22nd. According to what he was seeing (cars arriving earlier than usual) he believed it would arrive last Friday or Saturday. Unfortunately it did not arrive either of those days and the truck that arrived today didnt have it on there either. He is baffled at this point and does not know why it has not arrived yet?

I know it may seem like I'm being impatient, but my real issue is that I'm leaving for Korea (work) for 2 1/2 weeks on Friday and would really like to find out what is going on at the VPC and if it will delay me getting this car until after I get back.

if the car was released...but not yet delivered, it's waiting to be loaded on a truck (or already is). Normally, once released, it's one to two days normally until dealer delivery...however, congestion at the VPC can always delay it. If it was in fact released on the 17th...you should have it today or tomorrow at the latest I would estimate. Also, if released, contacting the VPC isn't going to do any good--it's already in line to be delivered!

since you're in San Diego, it wont even take a day for them to get the car to your dealership.

Was yours an ED or a regular purchase (order)?? If it's an order it will go through customs and VPC quicker than ED cars.

It was a regular purchase. I understand the EDs take a bit longer but figured being in SD and coupled with the fact that it was a straight purchase that it would get here sooner rather than later. I guess what seems odd to me is the fact that I can track the vehicle when its ordered, I can tell that it is in production, I can see that its in the body shop getting painted, I can see that its on a ship and what ship its on (and even where the ship is located with certain tools) , and I can even tell when it gets to the port and gets to the VPC. But that little 2hr trip from the VPC to the dealer is all of a sudden masked in "Doh its not here yet .... I don't know where it is??". One would think that a dealer would get information on what is being delivered on any given day in order to properly prep/staff for its arrival. <------- Ok I'm anxious and frustrated dont mind me ...

I guess my main concern is that something may have happened to the vehicle and as such it is going to take a lot longer for me to get it than originally anticipated. I mean how long would it take for lets say a broken review mirror to get replaced on a car?

true...a car can be damaged at the VPC, which would require a longer stay. If that's the case, we can see the car on our DCS system and we're alerted to the damage. However, since your car has been released already...I doubt there is damage.
