E91 M Sport Photoshoot - The Whip

As a Photographer who specialises in Automotive, I thought I best take some of my own! I've also just finished a full clay and FK1000P seal to get it ready for winter. Don't think it looks too bad considering its on 165k!

Also gave me a chance to mess around with some different framing techniques and how the lens focal length affects the shape of the car.

Fully standard at the moment, at the moment slowly replacing the worn things like bushes, drop links, then might look in to some spacers and maybe a bit of lowering.

Hope you like!

Yeah was messing around with the angles, more magazine style with space for text to be arranged.

Generally with studio flash its quite hard to obtain a shallow depth of field as you are limited to a 1/250th shutter, all were shot at ISO100 too. I've messed around with using a ND8 to get a wider aperture but then I find the focus starts to get a bit iffy, camera isn't a huge fan of focusing through ND8 and a polariser, even in broad daylight (which these were) very little light is coming through.

Haha thats my dirty derv tip, if anything I'll paint it black, can't be dealing with keeping it clean! Sadly for the majority of the year whilst I'm at University I don't have a way of cleaning it so it goes uncleaned for 2 or 3 months at a time, hence a silver car, and trying to get it protected whilst I'm at home!

Great pictures! They actually look like they could be taken right out of a BMW brochure!

Particularly like the one where you can see engine bay through the bonnet.

Had a few people say the brochure comment, it's sort of the style I go for usually.

Yeah the 'Perspex Bonnet' is a technique I keep practicing, I just need to execute it now on an engine bay worth seeing!

Nah I'm really not a fan of black lines, maybe if they were clear not tinted. Ordered some red tint film to try out the full red rears.
