For someone who has such great natural skill, Hamilton often makes me wonder if his brain goes into neutral sometimes. Another example of how not to drive a race (and finish in the points). *I actually enjoy watching Lewis drive, and suspect at the end of the season he'll be one of the top 3 drivers*. The commentators can say what they will about his team not reminding him about the pit lane exit light, but it was clearly a result of lack of attention. Big FAIL to Lewis Hamilton.

As for Kimi, what goes around comes around. He may have been experiencing what Sutil felt 2 weeks ago in Monaco when he was rear-ended by Kimi. Maybe that's why he didn't take a poke at Lewis as he walked by him and pointed at the Light *which was clearly red*.

While it was a great victory for BMW-Sauber, realistically only one of the BMW drivers would have been podium material if Hamilton hadn't eliminated himself & Kimi. Tough luck for them ..... nice turn of events for Kubica . Wonder how Heidfeld feels being the 2nd driver on the team now .... ?

I was thinking the same thing about Hamilton. He is so bent on winning that he often forgets the little details that it takes to win. Last year he had the Chinese GP and the drivers championship in the bag then botches the pit entry. Then at the Brazilian GP he want's to compete with Alonzo and screws himself again. Makes me wonder sometimes. You have to finish the race in order to win.


Great for Theissen and BMW Sauber. I loved it when Kubica kept saying on the Pit Radio during qualifying that he could push the car farther but he didn't trust the tyres. Then after the race when Kubica was being interviewed he said that the pit crew told him to ease up on the car and Kubica said that he already was. This leads me to believe that the Kubica get alot more performace out of the BMW Sauber. It's great to be a BMW Sauber Fan.

Hamilton is so used to driving fast that he cannot learn to drive slow. This is his second year in F1 and I have seen him crash out more in the pit lane (last time it was Shanghai) than on the track.

Congrats to Kubica, Heidfeld & the BMW Sauber team for the win. But there seems to be a little too much negativity about Hamilton. The guy is amazing at such a young age. I get a sense that there is more jealousy towards him for not being on the BMW Sauber team then actual dislike for the guy.

Go on Hamilton! Ok so he messed up, hes young, will learn and get better. Still the best driver in my opinion. Rosberg did it as well so least Lewis ain the only 1.

Lewis qualified on low fuel. His stop was longer. This is why Kimi and Robert were waiting at the end of the pit already, side by side.

Kimi and Robert were basically(there was other cars that didn't stop) tied for first at the end of the pits, waiting for the green light.

They were going to have a drag race down pit exit, when the kid smashed into Kimi. Hamilton would have been in what was basically 3rd place if that didn't happened.

I think Hamilton was trying to time the green light & slip past them at the exit.
He just fvcked up, plain & simple.

what makes it worse is he gets a grid penalty for the next race.
This could very well cost him any chance at the drivers championship.

so pumped i can't believe it..they finally finished 1 and 2..i knew they would do it this year!!!! bmw took the greatest risk with their aero and it has paid off BIG..the whole team is rockin!!!!! Congrats bmw!!!!! big time

haha I just thought it was funny, don't worry about it. It definitely was an exciting race; I'm pretty pissed about Hamilton though. I know he's new and all, but when he started zooming out it wasn't really his fault. Getting out of the pits is so critical that drivers often don't have that reaction time. IE Kubica pulled out in front of Heidfeld to take the 1 2, but if he was maybe 1 sec. slower he would have finished 2nd. Makes all the world and now Hamilton needs to pull off a miracle in France to come back.

id like to agree that watching hamilton drive on limit is most fun since Schumi or Senna, perhaps Senna more because Schumi excelled in era of clinical driving and traction control days, while Hamster is now throwing car into corners with sweet powerslides and so on. It's a pleasure to watch. But do i like him? no, he's like a little spoiled goldne child... but i like Alonso even less.

Support Kimi till he retires.

That's exactly what he tried to do!! in Hindsight was it a dumb move YES. But please don't knock him as if he's a bad driver before the damn caution he was almost 15 seconds on Kubica who was also driving his tail off, The guy is going to be great hate all you want!! He may be a spoiled golden child, but he is still the GOLDEN CHILD!

No negativity on Hamilton, He blew it in this race just like he blew it last year in China and Brazil. It happens to the best of them. I'm not doubting his greatness or potential greatness as a driver but the facts are the facts.

Sorry, watch it again a few times. Lewis wasn't trying to time the light / slip by anyone. The pit lane (box) where Kimi & Kubica were sitting is 2 cars wide. It's clear Hamilton didn't even see them when he left his pit .... he opened it up and was driving directly down the middle of the pitlane (to block anyone behind him) and by the time he noticed the 2 stopped cars, locked up & slid into Kimi. Kubica is fortunate he didn't get hit at same time *at least Hamilton chose to swerve left*.

Lewis (and Kubica) are the 2 young stars on the F1 circuit, but young Hamilton needs to calm down and start thinking. This lack of thinking clearly cost him the championship at the end of the 2007 season *where he had 3 or 4 different opportunities to secure the points necessary to win*.
