that is some serious damage! obviously the lug nuts were not tightened, or the wheel studs snapped off and were not properly threaded.

Thanks, I wasn't in town. I was in Arkansas, which is 4 hours away from where I live, for thanksgiving.
This happened Friday on my way back to Oklahoma.

They might have been not tightened or over tightened.

So what happened is that I heard something exploding and the car was sliding but traction was trying to hold it, it was hard to control the wheel and the car since the left tire wasn't moving but all three tires were okay. Didn't break hard at all because that would make us just spin and spin, finally stopped at the shoulder of the highway and opened my door looked at it and my first reaction was "OH MY GOD" finally came out of the car and looked at it, car was sitting on the tire like the pictures, thanks to the fender for holding the tire, all lug nuts were not there and not near the car (couldn't find them). It could have been so much worse if the tire just flew away. Thanks God the tire stuck in there and even held the car by a paper width of the ground. What you see on the body is because of the rubber hitting the body. The tire is a total loss and the bumper will need to be replaced. Body will need to be buffed out, also the hub might need to be replaced, hopefully this is it.

Go re-torque the wheels and if you have spacers take them off.

Whoa, that is a crazy story and i'm glad everyone is okay.

Seems like the lug nuts weren't tight enough and if there were spacers I doubt it would be the cause of it.

O.O I'm speechless. Glad you're okay OP. I think this will be a good time to convert to the stud conversion? Hopefully it'll be a cheap and easy fix

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

indeed i will. i'm going to have them checked tomorrow.

the worst part was, I had them done at firestone and they pissed me off so much i pretty much told the manager to fire this one guy. then I get home and realize they put my two front wheels on the right side of my car and my two back wheels on the left (i have a staggered setup) so i had to go back again and have them re-do it. needless to say, i yelled even more and got my money back

i'm going to have to just go somewhere else now

what a hassle

Well that certainly could have had a much worse ending than it it. Now the question is: why? Did you recently have the tires done? Were you using spacers that may have caused this?
