Tint shop in Ft Lauderdale.....
I work in Ft. Lauderdale and was looking for a good place to get my windows tinted. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm just looking for 35% ceramic and hopefully someone who is good with the dots the coupe has on the rear window. |

what type of tint do you want, formula one? hyper optic?
go to their website and find a certified installer, when i did that for f1 tint there was only one place within 40 miles a certified installer is your best bet, both because they went through the process to be certified, and because they CARE enough to get certified

Okay, I was just asking if anyone had anyone to recommend i.e. maybe someone who used someone in this area already.
I can just randomly pick a shop or find someone who is certified but that means jack! I would rather find someone with expereince not a peice of paper. I found the Formula One tint places in the south FL area and just how the shop looks from the outside I wouldn't even dive my car into the driveway. I just want a professional shop that's all. I guess I'll just ask the dealer where I got my car. |

and 90% of the tint places out there are in places "you wouldnt drive your car into the driveway of" why? because no matter how shitty the neighborhood gets they have to stay at that location... if it was a nice place you would probably say "this place is nice, but its only been here for a year so i dont think i can trust them" one of your major decisions when choosing a shop is how long they have been established at one location this is all basic shit you should already know

I didn't say anything about the neighborhood, the actual place is a dump and when you see guys with "chain linked belts" leaning up on cars while doing work on them certificate or not...you don't want them touching your car!
Again, I didn't say anything about the cert being easy to get. I just said I would rather have experience over a piece of paper. And yes having worked for 9 years on high end cars installing AV/sound systems for show cars and large companies like Sony up north before I moved to FL. I do know a little something about picking a shop. Thanks! |

I took my previous car to the tint place on Pines and Flamingo in Pembroke Pines. I had the tints on for 6 years, and they were perfect until the day I sold the car. All my friends and family have since gone there and they have the same to say about their cars. I am not sure if they are certified in the tints you guys are looking at, but I am taking my car when I pick it up on Saturday.
Unfortunatly I cannot find the name of the place on Yellowpages, but I will get all the info when I go on Saturday for you guys. |

You don't read very well do you? You never once gave me the advice I was asking. Instead you were just being a wise ass! Have a nice day. Now LIQUIX has given me the advice I was asking because he had proven results at his place. Thanks! |

Well this sucks. Lauderdale BMW ordered my car wrong, and now I have to wait another 6 weeks. Unfortunatly, I wont have the name of the tint shop when promised.

Finally had it done and I'm not happy...
I went to Huper Optik website and got the name of the local dealer. It ended up being a place in south Miami near sunset place who has been there for years and seem to have a good reputation. They charged $325 for Huper Optik 30% and I got a 15% discount coupon from their website. They are also computer cut which was important to me. 3 weeks later after all the air bubbles disappeared, I'm still very unhappy with the line of dot matrix came out in the top of the back window. I thought it would at least come out even with a 2 tone look but the line is uneven with spots where the dot matrix is not as high and the tint stuck flush. I'll have pics this weekend after I wash the car. I still have to go back to the shop and see if they can do anything but I have a bad feeling they will tell be it’s just the nature of this glass. In looking around other tinted coupes I find this to be the same with 99% of them…..I now wish I never tinted my car.
Why does BMW have such a huge area of dot matrix there is no reason for this! |
