E92 335i, H&R drop, 18mm RE spacers? Of course!
You tell me
Almost everyone doubted this aggressive setup would work without rubbing on a decently lowered coupe. I got the spacers from Danny at Auto Talent and he didn't believe it would work either and advised to get 15mm instead.(great person to deal with by the way for parts) Here you go to the non-believers. It looks awesome. Can't argue with math. It works! Next: 12mm RE spacers for the front (15mm if I up for the fun) Enjoy..

Why would it rub? The stock Rear 18x8.5 wheel is +37 subtract the 18 for your spacer that would be the same as a 9.5 with a +32 offset. I wouldn't consider this setup super aggressive. I agree it looks better then stock though.

Your calculations are decently close enough. But the main point here is that even some vendors are saying certain setups won't work, ESPECIALLY for a car thats decently lowered. People who run at stock height generally shouldn't have a problem with any setup IMO (unless its sticking out substantially past the quarter-panel) Anyway, this is only a temp solution until decide which rims I want for this car.

Awesome! This is just the thread I wanted to see.
Since it seems you have good math skills, what do you think about the OEM 19" style 230's, same H&R drop, (assuming that is Sport), stock fenders, but with 15mm rear spacers? I was advised 12mm but this gives me a little hope for aggressive. Are your fender's rolled? EDIT: Here are the specs for the OEM style 230's: 8x19 225/35R19 ET 37 9x19 255/30R19 ET 39 |

Let's see here.. Stock wheels are 8.5 wide with a 37mm offset. Style 230's are 9 wide and 39 offset. Now given your rims are 1/2 inch wider, that would mean roughly 12mm wider TOTAL. 6mm of that width is on the inside, 6mm is toward the outside. The 230's have 2mm less agressive offset, setting your 230's to only 4mm wider than the stock wheels toward the outside. Go with the 15mm spacers in the rear bro. It will fit. a 14.3MM spacer would give you the same look as my car with the 189 wheels. So verdict? 15mm all the way. My quarter panels are not rolled and are 100% stock.

^^ Excellent! Thanks for looking that over for me. 15mm in the rear it is. I'm thinking 5mm in the front would suffice (and are half the price of the next step up).

I personally am going to stuff 12 or 15mm spacers in the front for my car. You should go for a 10mm or 12mm because it seems as though the width of the 230's is the same as the 189's and they sacrificed a few MM on the offset. So based on the wheels specs alone, you technically have more room. 10 or 12mm should be good. You don't want to space out the rear drastically without much change to the front, the car's handling dymanics will change and it will understeer more since you will be effectively widening the rear track while keeping the front narrow. If the car was rear biased in weight and engine placement, it would have been ideal, but not in this case. Do the fronts too!!

The RE spacers are pretty darn light. I would say about 1 lb per side, maybe less.

I will be adding 12 or 15mm spacers for the front to flush out the front and bring balance out the wheel track between the front and rear to aid in the handling.
