Ok thanks for the offer, I'll have decided by tomorrow night, cos ordering during the week-end (today or tomorrow) won't make them ship any faster. They usually do that weekdays

Or, I can come steal your mini's battery, ok?

I'm sure the folks at NAPA can find you a light weight battery fast enough. I think I will be going for Deka ETX18L. Nice and light, perfect for the summer.

Those are same as the Braille battery. The heaviest is 21-22 lbs, 400amp / 26 cold cranking power.

The mini cooper lightweight 35 lbs has 550 amp and 55 cold cranking power.

News are that even the mini cooper LW battery will drain after a few days sitting around. Those batteries and the Brailles are also more difficult to recondition to max efficiency as the lead-acid ones.

So for now, I am not even sure of getting the LW mini battery. The Braille even less likely

45 lbs, so 20 lbs savings without sacrificing too much, this is also an AGM battery.

forget bout the lightweight battery. just cut weight by removing back seats or doing other things. not worth compromising battery life with a lightweight battery. wont be fun if you ever get stuck somewhere and need to beg someone else to get a boost (esp if youre alone).

i know because i've had to beg a taxi for a boost in the middle of the night before. all because i was trying to be cheap and put in a battery with lower cold cranking amps. this was on my old dodge stratus couple years back.

I know, the battery thing is a big compromise, so it will not be the lightest. How come YOU don't go to Freeport you falling behind on the modding

I hear you. The newer cars will suck a battery down quick. Not so bad on the E46 plus I pulled out a ton of electrical sh*t. I have an FIA cut off switch installed that helps out.

These guys ship free in Canada www. saskbattery . com

Nice find, I might go with the direct replacement one, at 53 lbs Exide FP AGML4 94R

Anybody knows how to code the battery specs. Do I need a BT cable for this?

LOL!, There seems to be issues even for those 35-45 lbs. I unfortunately have all the accessories which you don't have, so no way the 20 lbs batteries would work for me. So, I figure saving 15 lbs for the added trouble, may not be worth it.

Convince me otherwise though, please please please

I havent experimented so I have no real work experience with the little batteries. For track duty it's a no brainer. If you go with 700+CCA you cant go wrong.

Ok Glen, just ordered the mini cooper battery from Tischer BMW to be delivered at Freeport. When did you say you are going?

133$ usd including shipping.

I don't think I save much though as I heard it was like $150 locally, but that was some time ago!

Glen,

Scrap that, Tischer cancelled the order as Batteries are hazardous material, so they aren't allowed to ship! Makes sense though!
