Hey guys!

First DIY post so sorry if it's a little rough.

Since I installed LED atmosphere lighting inside my car, I quickly found it jarring that the outside door lights (on the floor, not the handles) were a contrasting white.

I've shown how to pull the lights out at the bottom of the post. I'll also update with a finished picture at night time when it gets later today.

So here's a quick DIY for anyone looking to change the colour of their puddle lights on the floor when the door is open.

I bought a pair of cheap replacement lights on Ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/372526060845

When they arrive, use a pin or small point to unclip the lights and pull them apart by sliding the pins towards the inside of the casing.

When they are apart, use a pin or hook to pull out the projecting slide.

Cut some gel to size. Whatever colour you wish just make sure it's thicker gel for best results, it shouldn't be thin and flimsy like cotton, it should be able to stay flat / be bent and creased leaving dents in it.

I can't vouch for this product as I've never used it, but something like this should be fine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Colored-Ove...way&sr=8-3

Slide the gel into the slot where you took the projector slide out, and it should look something like this..

Piece everything back together and reassemble back into the car. I made sure to put the projector back in with the gel/opening facing the plastic so that it wouldn't slide out one day.

The lights come out by simply pulling from the projector side towards the middle and down. Just basically pull it out from the same side as the light/LED is but apply pressure towards you/away from the car as you pull down.

Unclip the wires by simply pulling them out (a little tough but it will come). And then just reverse everything you've just done with the new light/previous light to reinstall.
