Plus BMW is redoing my alignment for me after replacing my steering rack so they asked that I come back when I have my summers on. If it snows I'll stay home. |

I got an alignment last week. I was going to scan and upload here. My OE tires had horrible wear on the pass side tire, outside shoulder. In other CA news, the Flyers beat up on the Leafs last night.

Hey Rye, is your car lowered? If so it's hard to get your camber balanced up front unless you get a camber kit.
P.S. I've been a Leafs/Caps fan since 1982. Shoot me. |

- Shadow line kidney grilles and new BMW badges (you have to hate the damage that gravel does to the hood...)
- D-TUK - full polish of the car + headlamps (not sure if this counts?) - improving the Logic 7 as much as possible - Lux AE (5000k) |

Cool! How do you plan on upgrading your Logic 7? I went through the BSW Stage 1 route and gotta say I'm pretty satisfied. Now to upgrade those mediocre OE subwoofers...

I've been deeply unsatisfied with the Logic 7 ever since I got my car, mainly due to the usual complaints (lack of detail/muddy sound, lacking bass). I'm coming from a relatively inexpensive 3k€ system (non-OEM HU included) on an X5 which was far from being top notch and yet delivered a lot better sound quality than this. So I went to the same store that did my X5, and they added an 8" sub in the trunk (I needed the space for a double pram, and couldn't fit a sub where the BSW sub goes due to the dual exhaust of the 335), a coaxial to replace the center channel speaker, two tweeters in the front to replace the OEM, and two amps in the trunk to power everything and give more punch to the under-seat woofers. Everything is Kenwood but the sub (JBL). The improvement was quite noticeable, but: - I'm going to replace the 8" with a 12" sub since I want a deeper bass, and my kids don't need the pram anymore (or rather, they don't want to stay put ); - the highs are killing my ears; - if I lower the highs enough to remove all the "ch" and "s", the sound is still muddy overall, I'm still missing the detail I had in the X5, and no matter how much I play with the EQ there is no fixing it. So now I'm considering other solutions to by-pass/correct what is coming out of the OEM amp (MS-8 comes to mind), preferably something that I'll be able to use in another car in a few years. But seeing that I'm quite new to this, even after months of roaming through forums the answers aren't quite clear to me. Is this really a solution to my problems? I had also considered the BSW upgrade, but after a lot of reading I reckoned that although SQ would be improved, it wouldn't make the system what I want it to be. So I decided to trust this local store (they have quite a reputation in Barcelona), but I guess the Logic 7 is quite the headache to improve even for them... Sometimes I wish I lived in the States |

Contact board member Technic (you'll need to have 10 or 15 posts to get pm privileges - go to the gallery section and post a bunch of complements LOL). He is a great resource on the board for upgrades, and sometimes posts threads about projects he's done for other members.
Here's one of his threads I found that seems to be close to what you want to do: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=826683

To replace the OE amp, I also agree with the MS-8 as I've heard good things about it and the compatibility with our vehicles is near flawless (with the help of Technic's kit). Replacing that amp is crucial in truly upgrading your car audio system. |

Thank's a lot for your input guys. I've already PMed Technic a wall of text this morning :-)
And thanks a LOT for the link to that post, DieselDiner!! It actually answers a few of the questions I had left. I was wondering if adding the MS-8 after the OEM amp would be enough, but I see that the OEM amp has to be removed (DA2 or HU recoding, or possibly AGW+). |
