Don't do Business with Park Ave. BMW in New Jersey!

Hey guys,

Do yourself a favor and never do business with Park Ave. BMW on Rte 17 in New Jersey. I had the worst experience trading in my second BMW and picking up the third. First off, they told me to pick up the car 2 weeks before my lease was up and never took care of the partial month for coming in early. Then they charged me $650 dollars for a windshield that had a nick in it about 4 millimeters in diameter. The woman handling the return could have took care of it but told me just to complain to BMW about it. Nice right? Then after looking at the car, I see the trim on the doors of the couple is jet black and the back trim is the wood it's supposed to be. How this car went through all these inspections like this I'll never know. They took no money off and did nothing for me except give me an IOU for trim. My salesman was Dominick DiFalco. I called him after 2 months to ask about the trim and he told me it wasn't in yet. (They must be growing the trees to make the wood I guess) Now it's almost 4 months and no return calls from Dominick or the owner of the dealer. Have made many complaints to BMW and they tell me to call the dealer. I'm ready to put a brick on the gas pedal and drive it into a brick wall. Ok, enough ranting, lol. Anybody know someone in BMW I can call to take care of this? And does anybody know a way I can get rid of this lease since it isn't technically the car I ordered?

I'm not trying to be a jerk with this question, but why did you even take delivery of the car if it was messed up? Since you signed and took delivery, I don't think you can get out of it. Maybe small claims court for the trim?

I took delivery because they said they would take care of the trim. That was obviously a mistake.

Sorry about your misfortune with this dealer but you signed the lease. Their might be a couple of days where you can cancel it but it sounds like you are 4 months into it. I'd say you are SOL and should of never signed the lease to begin with.

BTW your username is probably going to cause you to be deleted.

Glad you got a good deal at the other dealership. There are many other good dealers out there. Park Ave. is not the only game in town although they act like they are. Only went there because a friend does business with them and got a "deal" which was no deal at all. A dealer closer to me is where I go for service and they actually treat you with respect there.

Wow this is pretty bad. I'm actually in the process of doing buisness with Dominick Difalco. He's been pretty good about everything actually and he's giving me 1500 over invoice on my 335xi.

Question, maybe I misread your post. Did you pick up a brand new car? Or did you lease a preowned??

It was a brand new 335i coupe. If you can go somewhere else, I would. If it's too late, hope nothing goes wrong because its extremely hard to get a call back from him.

It's actually pretty hard to get him on the phone, but he replies back to emails very quickly.

Other than the trim, the car is ok right? Something so trivial as the trim shouldn't call for the bad mouthing of the dealer. If it was something like a MAF sensor or something to do with the engine, I would totally be on your side.

But I do understand that 650 is a lot of money for a small nick in the windshield. That I would definetly complain about.

Not sure in NJ, but in Cali you can not sell a car with a chip or crack in the windshield.

It's not just the money. Its the way I was treated. Like I was some jerkoff doing them a favor by leasing a 45,000 car. And Dom said he would try to take care of the windshield issue and the partial month i was due. He said he tried and couldn't get them to budge. I had to do it myself and take care of it. So apparently I can get more done then he can. The people who work there act very elitist. Unless you're a rich guy buying an M6 they could care less about you.

Thanks. Glad things worked out for you. At most other dealerships things will go fine. Dealing with BMW customer service is even worse. I complained many times and they called me back and said "call the dealer". Thanks. Completely useless. I just finally hung up after telling him this is my last BMW after this treatment.

It was so small they could have fixed it. And since I was getting my 3rd car in 5 years at that dealer, you'd think they'd cut me some slack. Especially since I kept the car garaged and in showroom condition. I treated them like they were my own cars. Not on this one though. Might as well beat the hell out of it.

Thats true. They are big on customer service except when you don't give them all 5's. They only want to hear the good stories. I think after I gave this dealer bad numbers on the survey, they were like "Ok this guy is never getting a call back" My salesman did call me back once only after he heard I was complaining about him. Called him today at 3. Left a message. Says in his voice mail he's working til 8 tonight. No call so far.

OP: Just to let you know, I've had a lot of trouble trying to get him to return my calls. Maybe try to email him? He's pretty good with the emails. Also I've noticed that when he does call me he calls me on a different number every time. :

I'm gonna talk to him about all this stuff. Put him on the spot and see what he says.

Yea ParkAveBMW is no good. I was in the market for a Space Grey/Coral Red Leather E92 and called ParkAve on Rt. 17 to see if they had the car w/the Coral Red. The salesman (I won't mention his name) said he had the car and when I showed up (45 min drive from my house) the car turned out not to be at the dealership but at the warehouse. It ended up being a 1.5hr. waste of my time. I just last week ordered my car from Hunterdon BMW which is a great dealership.
