It's the rear brake pad sensor

Replace it and/or the pads, depending on condition and you should be fine

what happens when you disconnected the new HID's and plug int he old halogens? If lights on the dash are still there then you will need to go an Indy who will be able to clear the codes for you.

If the above is the case then the decoders that came with the kit are not doing their job.

Go to any decent Independant. who can read and clear fault codes. Or you could just buy the cable and software yourself its like 30-50 pounds for a proper decent one. Someone like BMtechnic who I bought mine from.

All the best.

ive just changed the bulbs back to the standard bulbs and they work fine no errors no codes. but with the hid kit in it comes up with two bulbs out then they flicker and on the dash there is a red picture of a car on a ramp but the lights dont go out.

think it could be the capacitor/error canceller with the kit....

From my understanding if the warning symbol is triggered more than 30 consecutive times you may require a new light control module. There are many hid kits out there that claim compatibility but trigger the sensitive control module in the e90.

The only hid kit that works properly with e90 is the wideview hid which is canbus compatible:
