Goodyear Scratched My Rims

Last night Im at Target, and hear this thump thump thump noise, and figure I picked up a rock in my tire. so i pull over and find a big screw in there. This morning, I take the car to firestone, and they wont repair the RFT. I go to Goodyear and he says no problem, we do all of the Corvettes RFT'S here...so im feeling pretty confident, and relieved, that they can repair my tire. I see the guy whacking my rim with his air gun a few times and ended up with a few little scratches around several of the lug nut holes. Theres also Grease all over the outside handles, inside handles, and all over my rubber floor mat... The tire place said they will pay for the repair, and I found a guy an hour away who does the rims for the local bmw dealer, but without a spare, it puts me in another predicament. here are a couple pics of the damage...I know its minor, but still makes me mad...If i take the car there i have to leave it overnight and dont ahve a way home. if i take the rim, i dont have anything for the car to sit on without a spare. The Car is only 3 weeks old!

I'm like that too.. i'll notice the "little" things like that and that's why I don't like anyone touching my cars...

It's gonna happen. Changing tires on cars will eventually result in scratches.

Sorry to hear the shop didn't take care of your car. Like everyone mentioned? Why didn't you take it to the dealership? Too expensive?

Yes. 470.00 for a tire replacement is too expensive. You mean like baggerben mentioned?

I'm pretty anal when it comes to my car too. But that doesn't look too bad at all. If I were in your shoes, I'd leave it as is. I'd still collect the money from them for doing the damage, and used the money towards a new and better set of wheels. Just my 2 cents.

The nicks on the first wheel can almost passed for road debris from the freeway that would happen sooner or later.

PS there are on site wheel repair now, usually takes less than an hour for one wheel so no down time.

Scroll down to the middle of the page and see MagMD's pictures as reference for on site repair, w/o taking the wheel off the car.

If you want, you can probably try to fix it yourself. There's a DIY posted on this forum somewhere.

man i went thru a similar situation right when i got my wheels too!! i bought my tires at discount tires so i thought.... ok it would just be easier to mount there, then they freakin scratched 3 out of the 4 wheels!! well story short...i got 3 free new tires and no cost for any labor and mounting fees, which basically means i got everything free, cuz i bought 2 used tires. (they f*ed up on one of the tires)

i havent got it fixed tho... i thought later on, wheels get curbed accidently so it would be a waste of money to fixed it now plus it was minor just like yours
