Has anyone got this Dab kit fitted?

Considering retrofitting DAB to my car. There is the genuine BMW retrofit kit that BMW are currently advertising for £299 installed. But I've heard its not controllable via the steering controls and is a bit of slapdash kit that relies on the driver to operate it via a standalone remote controller.

In my searches I've discovered an AutoDAB kit - which is available for £149 and needs no coding and simply plugs into the standard, BMW harness behind the stereo. Its also supposed to operate like OEM DAB via the stereo - interesting

Anyone have any experiences of this kit? worth it?

The unit is controlled through the steering wheel buttons.

humm would like a bit more information on that. Remember the FM Transmitters you could get for you're iPod, so that you could listen to the iPod on your car stereo without any wires? thats FM modulation - works great, when there is NO interference

That would be my concern with this

The price sounds good but not keen on the FM modulation thing. Seems like a shame having an analouge input for something which is digital - not convinced the sound quality will be as good as you'd want with DAB..... but I could be talking rubbish.
