Mods are JB4 15 ohm, Mr5 intake, snow performance meth/water injection. 2 cm3 nozzles, one in each intake snorkel pre-filter, and a cm10 into a custom elbow.

It'll be easy to improve upon. Just going when it drops to below 50 degrees, and ordering my UR catless pipes should put me in the 11s if I can improve on my reaction time.

Has anybody here tried comparing times on a 2nd gear launch vs a 1st?
For me 2nd gear launch was good for a solid .05 to .075 off ET, but didn't affect traps much at all. The 60' is quicker from 1st, but the shift eats all that time and then some (at least on my car). Also wheelspin in 1st and the RPM needle flying like crazy to redline make it a tricky launch, I did finally master it but it took some time to get the shift right at the sweet spot (4.5krpm pull paddle, with it shifting ~6k). If you have wheelspin in 1st the auto trans logic is suspended and doesn't upshift so it will bounce the rev limiter.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. At high boost, things seem a bit unstable... so I havent really done a hard 2nd gear launch yet. I'm at 64000 miles and haven't flushed and changed the transmission fluids yet, so I'm thinking that I should do that and overfill it a bit when I do before I try anything too aggressive. Might be less dangerous to just open up the exhaust a bit and then throw in a small dry shot to improve 3rd gear. Idk about your car, but after 1st and 2nd, 3rd seems to be dropping the ball.

Trans flush and overfill sounds like it will really help, so I would for sure do that (diy on here somewhere) before 2nd gear pulls, although it took probably 50 2nd gear launches for mine to start messing. 3rd gear is a big change, I am tempted to try nitrous in the spring which is why I got a second bung, if we don't hit protection mode it would be a great boost up top

Now the trick is to find a dry kit for as cheap as hotrod, hardly any on here but maybe they are more popular with other cars.

I went back to the track today to see if a little VP103 gas would help and it did. My 1/4 mile times were a little better but my MPH in the quarter went from 114 to 116. I still wonder why I am not seeing lower 1/4 times with my mods and 1/4 mile mph.

You're picking up quite a bit in the back half, how are 1st and 2nd gear feeling? Are you getting wheelspin or something?

I ran on map 2 last week, 12.334 @ 110 but my 1/8 was 7.869 @ 88.46. This was from first gear, with strong acceleration in both gears. Brake boosting to about 2k in my auto, what was your launch like ?

Looks like your launch- 1.8, while not bad, isn't anywhere near what it's capable of. I used to hit 1.75's on my RWD SRT6.

You have to call me if you are going again soon- maybe this friday the 9th? I'm eager to run it to see what my POS N55 can do.

Im not sure how much faster I can get on my launch. This car takes no skill at all. Not like my old evo and sti sticks. I just brake torque to limiter in DS M1 and watch the tree and let go of the brake. The limiter only lets the RPM's go to 2500. Any other tricks would be appriciated. I also must note my tires are all season non runflat.

My 1st gear launch is close to 2750 rpm, which seems to be the max. At that RPM I see 7-8lbs of boost, the car is very hard to hold with the brakes in 1st gear when brake boosting as well. 2nd gear is more like 3250 rpms, boost at 10lbs and a meth flow half way from 160 F to 250 F on the oil gauge.

I don't know if this is what a stock car does, maybe my torque converter is a bit more worn than others? Seems like 2nd gear gets a ton more RPMs than it should.

Maybe if there was a way to drive AROUND the water in staging. Though I know Atco is setup like a gauntlet, forcing you to drive directly through it regardless.

Seriously- let me know if you want to head up this friday. You still have my cell?

Our track was closed this year but it's reopening this spring. I'm planning on low 12s maybe high 11s, my mods are listed below. In 2010 I ran a 13.2x with a 1.7 60', All i had was a DCI, AFE exhaust and JB3 map 2. I brake boosted until about 2500 rpm with DTC all the way off, changing gears manually (auto tranny).

I think what made a difference were my tires. Since the car is rear biased and I'm running 275 width Contisports.

I'm going to mess with the tuning this winter so it will be ready for spring, also I'm installing a Nitrous/Meth combo for my ISF which I'm hoping to hit the 10s in as well this spring. I'm getting pretty excited for track season!

Rear slicks really?

Even if you got a little spin it shouldn't be much in the xi and might actually help your trap.

Just wondering?

And by the way, great times!
My best is 12.42 at 111.xx before having my dps installed. Sucks living in the northeast, I have about 3 more months till the tracks open.

Very nice, although with the slicks I would think you should see 1.6x 60' at least if not high 1.5x. Are you MT or AT? The temps sound about perfect for a good run, with a lower 60' you are nearly to your 11s. When you shift are you going at redline or 6200rpm? Also make sure you are giving yourself a 10-15 min cooldown with the hood up before trying to a best time run, it helps even in cooler temps.

I kind of like keeping this thread going as it was great to read before I bought my car

Did some runs last night finally holding good boost after the JB4 15ohm change, having some issues with the car so not quite what I was hoping for. These are vbox times:

Best partial run (1st gear, spun all 4 up to 20mph!, fuel cut-out around 105):
1/4 12.0 @ 109
1/8 7.6 @ 94
60' 1.7
0-60 3.8
60-100 5.1
0-100 8.9

Last Run (only full one, no brake boosting and meth ran out at the end):
1/4 12.29 @ 117.59 MPH
1/8 8.05 @ 92.82 MPH
60' 2.05
0-60 4.0
60-100 5.1
0-100 9.1

How in the world did you do a 12.0 at only 109mph. I mean I know with a 1.7 launch that will help but not to those extents? Is that a typo, you should need at least 114 traps in the xi to get to those times

Fuel cut-out around 105mph, HPFP code was thrown so I had almost all power cut and coasted the rest of the way.

Coasting your way through the finish of a quarter mile from 105 on and still pulling a 12.0 has some serious implications... Damn.
