Opinions wanted: tires for 335i
So it's come time for a new set of tires for my girl's 07 335i coupe. The setup that is currently on the car is 225/40/r18 in the front and 255/35/r18 in the rear, which I think came stock with the car (she purchased the car used). I found a set of 4 practically brand new 245/40/r18's and my concern is that the fronts will be too wide. Would these be ok all around? Or am I way off?
I should also mention that the new set of tires were looking at are not run flat as hers are now. But I can't pass them up for the price. Not to mention the current tires she has on now, Bridgestone Potenza RFT's, got a shitty review on tire rack and are almost bald after 23k. Appreciate the help! |

I would be concerned about possible rubbing up front. While I've seen some guys run this size with no problems, we've also has reports or rubbing from some who have tried it.
235/40R18 fits consistently with no reported issues. Tires http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...ires/index.jsp

245 should be ok up front, I've read many people running this size tire up front but you may have to increase camber slightly if it rubs. but as mentioned above make sure the front wheels meet the minimum required width for the tire. ( you can get this info on tirerack in the tire specs by size).
