Bad day for the FTSE 100

For any of those interested, at time of writing FTSE now at 5080 down 4.77% today and still falling

And tomorrow could see it fall to an 8 Month Low

Luckily I placed a short this morning

Not a follower of Rockhopper, but do follow Desire....Hope you didn't buy in when they were up at £100.... If you did, , but I think give a few days, and they'll be back up somewhere near...They did hit about 75% at one point today though....

I have a pile of these and got a load more after the Liz disaster. Nice that DES have just about got back to the rights price.

Still, lots more drilling to come.

Lets just hope that Sea Lion is commercial ..........

With DES I have an average of 98p which is not the best, do you remember black Monday shares went from £1.03 to 39p I have to admit to feeling a little sick.

Holding 20,000 DES so in for the long term, lots more drilling so fingers crossed. Did well with RBS bought 30,000 at 32p and sold at 45p then bought in again at 55p, now 48p so another long term hold.

My Imperial Tobacco shares have had a rough time also, although the City is reacting to a new female CEO and tax changes in Spain and Oz. Currently £18.60 ish but marked at £23 so lets see.

Either way the DES is an exciting ride.

Thankfully my in price to DES was 24p a few years ago. Could have bought them for pennies last year but hey ho. Having taken up the rights I suppose my average in is about 30p. Rockhopper was the star having bought at pennies and then bought a boatload more at 40p after the disappointing news on Liz.

Good news for anyone who bought yesterday am at 38p.

I do remember black Monday.... To be fair a 98p average is not too bad, and provided the drilling proves successful you should be fine. As you say, it's gonna be exciting

24p is still a very good price, although last year they were worth shit all. 24p stand to make you a very good return though, and as JLR said, drilling is only going to continue...

Some of us had FAR too much rum last night Needless to say, i'm feeling like sh*t right now... which also meant i missed my morning trades

For those who are interested, Desire (DES) @ 55.56 down 10.64% at time of writing

I really really really wish I understood this enough to put money into it. Spent the whole week reading up on trading so hopefully once I've learned a bit more I will feel more confident putting money into this.

All I'll say is, be careful...potential to make A LOT of money, but potential to lose a lot too...and trust me - I've learnt the hard way a few times
