A pad that is good for both street and ocasionaly track use AND that is low dust is not gonna happen.

It's in the main DIY list.

mr 5,
1/ on the website link you provided i found the REAR pads you are using (the semi metallic posi quiet pads). but i could not find the same FRONT pads that you listed for your car: all i found for FRONT 335 pads are: Axxis deluxe advanced street pads, and the Axxis ULT street pads. they list the ULT pad as their high performance street pad. note that the rotar life on these ULT pads appears much less than the deluxe advanced street pads. 2/ i live in south america and imported parts prices here are very inflated. question: a/ are you using after market brake pads because they are better? cheaper, or both ?? and b/ what do stock 335 pads cost approx in the states thanks

Right now, I use Rotora 6/4 piston calipers in the front rear, so my setup has changed quite a bit.
I initialy changed the pads to get rid of the dust, but now I don't give a crap about the dust because I'm all about performance. And, I have gunmetal wheels so they do a good thing with hiding the dust. If you can't find the pads then contact Zechausen Racing and David will hook you up. BTW, Axxis pads are great pads. I had the deluxe on my M3 and the dust is hardly anything. The ultimates have better performance but more dust.(not as much as OEM though) Quote:

1/ regarding the (front) Axxis deluxe versus Axxis ULT, is the ULT performance that much better that it is worth wearing out the rotars (probably) about 40% faster? i will go with the same rears you indicated : semi metalic posi quiet 2/ i am guessing that maybe you do circuit racing since you went with multiple calipers front and rear. is there a huge difference?? i ask becauese on the street, my stock brakes seem pretty good. if you are tracking your 335, how did the stock brakes hold up before you changed out your calipers? thanks

Mr. 5, what is the torque number for the 18mm (front) and 16mm (rear) caliper bolt?
Any info on this? Thanks.

You have to remove one Allen head bolt located on the face of the rotor.

You'll be braking with just your toes. The ULTs are a great pad to have if you don't want to change pads just for the track. The EBC yellostuff pads are kind of like the ULTs but they have a higher temp rating, and they won't grab as well as the ULTs when cold. Quote:
Like I said above though, if you put a set of the Hawk HT-10s in the stock calipers, you will be probably be stopping better than BBKs with street pads.

This explanation of changing brakes is GREAT! Thanks for the pictures too. I have a 335i with 58K miles and the brake light indicator came on to change the rear brakes. I'll change the brakes and reset the service light. My question is: Do I need to replace the brake sensor when I change the rear brakes? or is the brake sensor reusable (assumming it's in good condition)? Does the sensor get worn out with the brakes? I want to make sure the red brake service light goes away once I'm done with the brake change. Thanks for your help!

Im doing this today, but already on my first caliper, Im having a problem.
I took the two 18 mm bolts of the rear of the caliper, but I cant seem to slide the caliper off, it seems to be stuck. I can slide it around, so its floating, but it appears the caliper is clamping too much, not allowing it to slide off. Any ideas or help on this!!!! Any way to relieve the pressure off the caliper while its still on the rotor?
