Oil change on e90 question

I have e90 2006 330xi, how often should I change the oil in my car? When I had oil low level warning on my dash, I decided to schedule the appointment for oil change, when I got there they told me that I'm good for another 5000 miles, and they just added oil to my car. So I asked, how often should i change my oil, we responded every 15,000 miles. Is that normal????

cause on my other car it was done every 3,000 miles.Should i do it every 3,000 anyway?

yes, BMW tells you every 15K miles. you can do it as often as you want, but you'll just have to pay for it, thats all. your warranty might be up anyway.

What they won't tell you is that BMW advises that an oil change be done at least once every 12 months if your car hasn't reached the 15,000 miles (approx.) in 12 months. However, if you plan on keeping your car, I suggest (and several other members would agree) you do it every 6,000 - 7,500 miles.

i change mine every 5k. i use the same schedule for my benz and the engine is smooth as silk despite having 135k miles on it..search on the m3 forum, there is a huge discussion about this..

My CBS is on track for a 20k OCI. I had them change it last week since it had been over a year. Bought the car in June, but last oil change was Sept 08 (~13,000 miles ago) according to the service history. CBS says it still has 8000 miles left.

At least once a year, most dealers reccomend you change it every 5,000 miles so you will be paying out of pocket after that, 3000miles is way to soon
