bug splatter on headlights

Well I have finally taken redelivery of my Bimmer from the PC and I drove the car back to Buffalo from South Carolina. I washed off all the bugs but I still have some bug residue on my headlights. How durable are BMW headlight lenses to getting scratches?

Any suggestions on removing the bug residue on headlights without scratching them?

Thanks

This car is a blast!!!!!

Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover is a good OTC product that is fine for use on headlights. Does a good job, and you can find it at any auto parts store, Target, Walmart, etc.

Save up for a clear bra bro ....... you would be soooooo glad you did.

During my last roadtrip I caught a rock into my passenger headlight lense. The impact was enough that it actually just penetrated the clear bra that is installed over the lense. Without the clear bra having been in place I would definitely have lost the headlight lense.

Thanks for all the Ideas I will try this.

I purchased headlight and fog light protectors from the autosport.com catalog. they are really thick and the fit is great. I just wanted to make sure my headlight were free of bugs before i put these covers on because I have Xenon headlights and I know how expensive they are to be replaced!

go with the the least aggressive method first. try maybe a bug and tar remove that's in spray form.

maybe something like Einszett Anti Insekt
