I recently noticed that initial bite in my car is less than desired. I think I'm gonna go with HAWK 5.0s with Brembo Rotors. Thoughts?

Akebono ceramics for me. If I remember correctly, didn't Bmw change to a pad that doesn't dust much?

I think so, because my wife's '09 dusts a hell of a lot more than my '11.

That's what I was thinking. Brother changed to updated pad and it's nearly as good as others with dust IMO

My favorite for the oem brakes are the Porterfield R4-S. They are like the oem pads but without the dust.

Just be wary of this with Akebono pads.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986303

I had the same problem on mine until I switched back to OEM.

Rather annoying and unacceptable for a quick street pad...

Just bought some Akebono euros. Excited to put them on. Can't stand the dust caused by the oems...especially with my wheels.

For OEM calipers on track: Performance Friction PFC08. Sure dust a lot but bite is great even from cold!

For DD, OEM pads are good IMO.

Not sure, but I will say, the dustier pads definitely have a stronger initial bite. Just as an FYI.

Probably will try the cool carbon. Little more bite than oem and less dust sounds like a all around winner to me.

Installed the HAWK 5.0s with Brembo Rotors today with some new wheels for the winter

Love the feel...

They aren't as overly sensitive as the factory dust bombers, they feel perfect to me.

I plan to move to Nevada sometime next year if all goes well so I won't have to worry about pads that are noisy in cold weather either.
I hear ya.

Yep

I'll be doing Hawk 5.0 and either Stop Tech or Brembo Rotors on my 335xi in the spring.

I may even do the upgraded brake lines as that does the most for brake pedal feel IMO.

How are the brakes doing so far? I like the idea of the Brembo/Hawk 5.0 setup. My brake light came on a few thousand miles ago so any time now I'll be having to replace the front ones. Also, will any sensor from here work?

https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-32...aking/Sensors/

Or is there a specific one I should be getting?
Thanks!

Surprised to see no one running Pagid or Ferodo.

Have Pagid DS Performance - not much dusting, good bite.
