F30 Brembo on E9x ?
Can anyone confirm that F30 Brembo (335) fit on E9x platform ?
I'm interested in the plain ones, not the "Performance version" I might pick up a set, just want to make sure they fit first |

The caliper will bolt up no problem. You'll need to either grind a few mm off the bottom of the outside brake pad or replace the rotor with a F30 rotor. The E92 rotor has a smaller rotor face with a "bump" closer to the mounting surface, the F30 rotor does not.

Judging my the clearance on those 18's...i would say that 17's should fit. I had a G35 coupe, before my BMW, that had OEM 18's with the OEM Brembo and the 17's would fit. It was definitely close, but no problems at all.

Please ignore this comment. Brake-Wheels fitment depends on rotor height, caliper size, wheel design and offset. Those brakes are very unlikely to fit under OEM BMW 17" for the 3 series. They will will fit in the barrel but the spokes won't clear the caliper. You will need 17" with low offset around +30mm

Yes, please disregard my post. I clearly did not have my brain turned on lol probably the worst post ever.
FWIW though, the m-sport and m-performance rotors are the same size. 370mm x 30mm. If this can help anyone calculate rather or not it will fit on a 17" wheel. To follow up on my post though the G35 had 324mm x 30mm rotor size and the 17 inch wheel barely...just barely fit.

Nismo - You are wrong my friend.
The Performance brakes are indeed 370mm As for the m sport brakes there are two options: 340mm front (same as 2series msports - came with smaller engine models) and will fit 17inch f30 wheels. 370mm fron that came with 335i and will fit 18inch wheels - couldnt find any e90 wheel that would fits without shaving the caliper a bit on the upper side. The stock f30 grey calipers are 370mm http://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-br...fferences.aspx |

***** Update******
So I went ahead and ordered the Zimmerman F30 340x30 rotors. I also painted my calipers red with a ceramic caliper paint kit and ordered the "M" decals off Ebay. I think the calipers came out looking really nice! The 30mm difference in rotor size between the stock Brembos and BMW performance Brembos would be almost impossible notice once installed. I've been driving with this setup for roughly a month now and haven't noticed the spongie feeling that others have reported. I bled each caliper twice before using a mallet to bump the remaining air bubbles out as per Brembos instructions. Maybe some of the guys with reporting the spongie feeling still have air bubbles in the system? The brakes are far less "grabby" when starting from a stop at idle speeds. Before I could hear the brakes let go and kind of lurch the car forward, now its nice and smooth. That may have more to do with the different pad compound of the pads then the calipers though. Prior to swapping the brakes out I did a few 100km/h - 0 runs on the stock setup and hammered on the brakes as hard as I could. I noticed there was minimal tire squeal with the ABS kicking in to control this. After the swap I repeated this process. I noticed that there was an increased amount of tire squeal and the car felt like it was breaking harder, but nothing overly drastic. I'm assuming the tire squeal is due to the ABS unit not being programed for the larger fluid capacity of the calipers and the pulses aren't enough to activate / deactivate the brakes fast enough. All and all I'm very happy with this mod. Total spend of this upgrade (in Canadian dollars.... 1/4 less than a USD lol) - $200 - For a full set of front / rear loaded F30 calipers and dust shields with 1000km - $20 for the ceramic paint - $220 for rotors - $10 "M" decal $450 Canadian.... so roughly $340 USD |

The 30mm is the difference between the standard F30 340mm rotor, and the 370mm BMW performance rotor. Calipers are almost the exact same. The only differences being the BMW performance caliper is painted and the mounting bracket is roughly 1.5cm taller to accommodate the larger rotor.

Now, the difference between these two(340 & 345) and 370mm is HUGE both in appearance and performance. I'm sorry, but that is the honest thought. |

Thanks for that find on ebay!! Well after all the fitment talk between this and the other thread I am a bit confused. The link you sent me are direct fit calipers for 2007 E90 if I change to the 340 rotors? Are there any specific pads I need to use for clearance? Thanks for all the help. |

The rear are not and will require the same mode as the Performance brakes. |

I have a brand new front caliper, powder coated red, from the performance package, for $250 shipped for the one. You just need the other and your choice of pad/rotor!
