If someone is never gonna go on track..or competed in an autox..no BBK is necessary. I track a lot...so it was a no brainer for me.

I disagree. My brakes have been completely awesome, and the time that I notice it the most is making hard quick slow downs (100-50).
My 6 pistons grab so quickly and the ABS doesn't engage.

I know that the BMW braking system is great, but there are better calipers out there.
I just don't understand why the 135 has 6 psitons and the M3 doesn't.

He asked if it would make a difference in ultimate stopping power, it won't, just get you to the limit with less pushing.

Next time try to brake hard at 110+. Stock brakes are weak.

I havent noticed ABS kickin in either. I have done a number of 125 to 40 mph deceleration runs...while on track.

PICs of ALCON BBK installed!

Hey. I had my brakes installed earlier this week. I also swapped the winter wheels and tires for my Summer set of BMW original style 230 19's with Sumitomo HTR Z III's, 235/35ZR19 front, 275/30ZR19 rear. I'm also dropped, but not too much, on KW V1. Aside from the fact that it needs a good cleaning, I think it looks pretty nice. What do you all think?

You know, I'm not sure. I do know that your post a few weeks ago is what got me in contact with StaSiS. If we are the only three, then most everyone else doesn't know what a great set of brakes they are missing.

They look great! At least as nice as Brembo and better than the others.

How will these affect the brake pad sensor? Do you just learn to live with the "Brake" light on the dash?

I currently have the brake light on the dask..but I will figure out something soon. I talked to the head BMW mechanic at my dealership..and he says you have to have the sensor off the OEM set up or you will always get that light. You cant just loop the circuit...like i use to do with my old Audis and Stoptech brakes.

I don't get it. You don't have enough brakes to even engage ABS?

No...I am saying that if ABS ever engages I dont feel it...all I feel is excellent brake deceleration with no pedal fade or sponginess no matter how late I brake in successive corners. If I do a threshold braking exercise I probably could feel it...since I would be really hitting the brakes hard and be able to concentrate just on what the brakes feel like..rather than where the apex is..and where my track out point is.

My mechanic zip-tied the brake pad wear sensor to the bracket behind the disc. I do not have a "brake" warning lamp on my dash.

Alcon brakes are awesome!! My best friend has 'em on his S4 Avant and they just look sexy.....Those pics actually made me think of something. The pics show that you only have 'em on your front wheels?? Did you do that to show a comparision pic or do they not make the rear ones?? My friends S4 also doesn't have the rear brakes, only the fronts.....

The kit from StaSiS was only for the front. As far as i know, they only have this style kit for the fronts. I do know that other tuning shops, Stillen and **********s for example, have six-pot front and 4-pot rear Alcon sets.

Nice, easy solution. Good to know!

Love the look of those rotors, too. Are there multiple options for pads that are relatively easy to find?

Alcon is great stuff! My buddy has Alcon BBK on his Evo and it's won NASA and Time Attack events, running with the big dogs.
