grind sound after installed down pipe

when the car was making left turn, i could hear grinding sound from front wheels. when car was moving straight, there was no noise. i brought the car to the shop where it was installed ar 3" dp. the technician inspected and said "the dp is too close to body frame only half inch between each other!" when car is turning, engine will torque then touch frame. not much he can do about except put a strap to tighten mid pipe to push dp away from frame. its not a long term solution. any suggestions to this problem?

I have a similar problem after my ar dp installation. Maybe Andrew can chime in.

Haven't fixed it yet. My mechanic said the same thing about it being close to the block and that's why it rattles.

I thought there is clearance with the AR ones...If I get mine installed and I hear this, I would not be a happy camper at all....I hope its just install error or isolated incident because this is the first that I have heard of this issue from the AR DP

mine also rattled. The guy had to shave a small corner of the transmission block so it wouldn't hit the dps. Mine was catted so it was a tight fit.

Indeed..It was a small corner at the edge..Keep in mind, the transmission box is thick in steel, so a small piece of shaven tranny will not cause any issues. I was there to witness it . There were several places where the AR catted dps hit: the tranny, heat shield(just bent the shield to the side), and the sides of the dps.

Fellas, please give me a call on Monday, and i will personally get you taken care of... Sounds like an install issue - we get this literally ALL the time.

I do not understand why people do not contact the manufacturer when they have issues. That is what we are here for!!!!!!

Wasn't there another thread with this same question already?

If they cleared a month ago, then that may not be your issue. Perhaps something came loose or shifted?

Yes, the fitment is VERY tight on these. 1/2in is normal in a few places. We get calls all the time, with techs often complaining that they are "too close" when they don't want to take the time to do the fitment properly. Making sure everything is aligned properly takes some time. I can't tell you how many times people have had them re-checked, or looked at by someone else, and had the issue resolved with some simple adjustments.

Having said that - IF there is every *any* issue with our products, we always back them 100%. We'll get you taken care of, no question.

I have AR catted. It is very tight and they have to be placed perfectly. I have no rattle ever. I was an extra pair of hands during the install that Sniz did with me on a lift.
