Nikon D50

My co-worker is selling his Nikon D50, and I'm thinking about buying it from him. I was just wondering if any of you own this camera, if yes how do you like it?? Thanks

it really depends on what it is that you want to do with the camera ... the D50 is a great camera in the nikon lineup because quite frankly it has some of the best looking high -iso noise.... but not the quickest AF in the world ... depends on what your looking for i guess....

i got a D40 a couple of months ago and was also on the edge of either used D50 or new D40. D40 has been getting terrific reviews, it has a significantly larger and brighter LCD (2" vs. 2.5"), it's faster, a LOT smaller and cheap. if you don't aim for a highly professional camera, this is the camera to get.

i wouldn't get the D50 just for its clumsiness, size and age. but there are drawbacks to D40 as well (lenses, etc).

also, D40x is supposed to come out some time soon with enhanced feature-set and 10 mega-pixel chip (as opposed to 6.1MP in the current model).
