I have heard the e90's have a "more aggressive" offset, compared to the e46's. I was wondering if someone could explain to me what this means exactly. I am planning on getting a 2006 330i next month and getting a staggered set up and I was wondering what the correct offset would be. Sorry I don't really know how to use that calculator given. I am planning on running 20x8.5 or 20x9 (if possible) in the front; and 20x10 in the back. Could someone help me figure out the correct offset, and whether this set up would even work? thanks alot!

the agressive offset means we share the same offset as the m3. i think. 20x10 in the rear would work but you might need to use a little higher offset. the fronts are the same, i thnk its 38 offset in the front. hit up natureboy, he is running 20s on his car. her would tell you more. i am running 19s front offset is 38 19x9 and rear are 19x9 with 27 offset. rears should be 19x10 with a 27 offset but breyton magic dont come in 19x10.

wow, e90s share the same offset as M3s? that would be awesome!! can anyone confirm this info? I didn't know e90s were that wide and could house such an aggressive offset.

thanks for the info. i am planning on getting rims with a lip....does this change the offset of the wheels needed, or is it standard for all e90's. Would it possible to get exact numbers on wheel offsets for front and rear? thanks

More agressive offset means that the e90 can take a deeper lip then usual. (its more agressive because you can push the wheel out further creating more of a lip on the wheel if you want).

As for which offset you should get, there is no set number because the numbers are measurements in mm.

Basicly there is a large range of offsets that may work, so the best way to see if it would work would be to first choose the wheels you want, then find out what offsets they offer for you, then we can help you see if it will fit

Thanks for the info...so if I was shopping around for some used wheels and if the advertisement said, for example: 19" BBS LMs 19x8.5F, 19x10R e46 M3 offset these would fit? What about for Iforged and DPE M3 fit wheels? Is it hard to generalize them due to customization or?

Even among wheels that are "M3 fit" wheels, there are variations in offsets, so best thing to do is what Mark said, find out the offset #'s (along with size/width like you listed) and then he'll be able to give an estimate whether it'll fit the E90 or not.

The e46 ///M wheels all fit the E90 fine (and the older version even needs spacers to be flush with the fenders). Tightie and RichP each have E46 M-wheels on their cars (different versions) and they both fit fine and look great too.

Just to add to chris's question: rear 19x10's with a 25 offset extend extra 31mm out, is this going to be an ok setup with just the oem sport suspension? without fender modification? I see the threads of a couple cars with this setup, but there isn't any info on whether this setup has been street tested. Anyone have any insight please?

Well there is a little caveat with M3 wheels on the E90.

As we said before, any given car can take a large range of offsets from mild to agressive. Now E46M3 wheels with mild to mildly agressive offsets should generally fit the E90. However certain very customized wheels with very agressive offsets for the E46M3 may not fit the E90 at all, so you must be careful. The best way to do this is to get the actual dimensions and offsets of the wheels, but i'd say in about 60% of cases, e46m3 wheels will fit the e90

The 18" M3 wheel offset is perfect. Would have liked to use the factory M3 tires size but cannot get the front and rears in a "run-flats" tire size. So I had the wheel/tire shop put my run-flats on the M3 wheels. The 255X35X18 are a little stretched on the M3 9X18 rear wheels. Buy the way, I traded my factory E90 330i sport package wheels straight across for the M3 wheels.

9x20 and 10/20....both 34mm offset should be fine on e90
