Help! VTT VC Gasket Install is a nightmare.

No install instructions at all, you think it should be pretty straightforward and doesn't need instructions but they made it a fucking nightmare. Anyone know how to install this? Comes in mf seperate pieces. Fitment is disgusting

I would contact them. Those do not look like N54 gaskets. Reminds me kind of N55 gaskets.

VTT makes horrible garbage products and always have. Unfortunately this does not surprise me. You also have the cast version which is know to leak oil through the casting. You want to coat the inside so oil will not creep through the amazing shitty casting. You can search and read about all the issues the cast vtt vc has.

M18 is a nice high quality cast vc and costs about the same. Just not a shit product.

VTT is just a distributor for cheap Chinese shit that they put huge margins on. The owner has been banned from every car forum known to man because he is so toxic and a jerk to customer and basically everyone. You can also look up his past arrest record in CA and see he beat the shit out of his ex girlfriend. Then he said he was going to have his wife sue RB Turbo which he was laughed at and nothing ever came of it.

The VTT forum rep has given up on the n54 community because of how bad their rep is. Now they go after the m3 crowd now that m3s are turbocharged. You can buy a pallet of his turbos from China if you wanted to but they will have the same abysmal failure rate.

Too late now haha, I'm stuck with this cover because I can't afford m18. It was leaking for sure but figured it was a gasket issue. About coating what do you mean by that?

Lol so true and Ebay sucks ass.

If you try and install a VTT product and it does not fit or issues there is a no return policy for products previously installed. Which makes sense if the products fits and or works past 3k miles.

Seriously cases of oil weeping through the cast valve cover not even at the gasket.

I would try and return asap. Do a charge back asap whatever you have to do.

Welp.

"No returns accepted after fourteen (14) days from ship date shown on Invoice. There is a 20% restocking fee applied to all components returned in a 100% resalable condition. If returned components are not in a 100% resalable condition, an additional charge will be assessed at the amount decided by VTT."

Charge back it is.

Their return policy is almost as comical as their customer service. It is invoiced the day you pay for it, not when it ships. Say you buy it on a Friday, it does not ship until Tuesday, there is 5 days gone. Or you buy on a monday and it takes say 2 days to ship/get picked up, 5-6 days to hit the east coast. If you don't inspect it and return it same day you will always be out of the 14 day window.

As opposed to Turner's return policy or basically everyone else: We will not accept returns for refund after 30 days, only store credits will be issued for parts returned after 30 days.

heck,
probably the best customer service / return policy ive dealt with was FCPEURO.

When my car was down, since august of 2021 - april of 2022, I ordered a Spec 3+ Clutch and flywheel.
Was told a part number fit on my car, turns out it was the wrong number of bolts. (Dont remember if I have 6 or 8), but when we tried to install it in MARCH, it didnt fit.
Emailed, spoke with, and all was fixed in 2 days. They sent a new one, I sent the old one back, and tadah!

They could have easily told me to f myself since I was a *bit* out of a general return policy. and I would have been out 1300$.

Long story short,
Sometimes (all of the time) its better to pay for the better brand / quality / company.

Definitely back charge your CC

This.

FCPEuro is the shit. They have a fair returns policy because they want repeat customers and to help the customers when they make a mistake. Making you $1,300 poorer is not their business model.

VTT's return policy is to make money off the customer, not help the customer. It is very short sighted but so is the company the the people running it. People often buy products assuming their are buying from a quality company and they will have a non predatory 'normal' return policy. 30 days is basically standard across the board.
