Just DIY...it takes 15 min. and costs ~50 beans for oil and filter.

+1 Of course, he needs a garage and ramps or jack stands... and the time to do it. Not everyone has that.

Dealers will charge $100+ for an oil change, though.

Goto dealer. DIY is not worth the hassel for me.
$100 for synthetic oil change isnt bad.

Just wait till the car tells you for the oil service or once a year the motor will do fine... don't worry

Mr AWD - do you lease?

If you plan to keep your car a long time, you will change the engine oil, man trans fluid, and diff fluid at 1200 miles (its free if you have an M car, the rest of us are on our own).

I have a local garage do mine when I'm not in the mood to do it myself. Cost me $10 plus my parts.

Hey I have two oil filters for the 335i if you want to buy them off me. I bought 3 then sold the car after only using one of them.

doesnt surprise me at all that it cost that much, especially since all dealerships charge more than $100/hour for labor.

you can always come to our next DIY at Martins Motorsport. its not more than a 20 min job and most of that time is waiting for the oil to completely drain. you'd probably save about $60 if you DIY

The oil change kit from Tischer is about $60
Also remember you can have a yearly oil change from the dealer under warranty.

Frank, do you do your own oil changes? I have Filter and 7 quarts (5w30) oil sitting in my garage. Bought it for my 330 but never used it. You can have it cheap if you want.
