License plate problem
So I bought Euro style plates for my E93 , problem is front plates were drilled straight onto the bumper bar and now the screws are falling out as a result my plate has fallen off numerous time.
I was hoping to buy some really nice premium licence plate frame for NSW Euro plates that have a backing and clear cover. Where do you guys recommend? Google points me to a melb site but the euro plate size is a little different and I dont want to risk it Also, how would I mount the front licence plate frame now that those holes are too big for the screw, bodyfill/putty? edit: some people said use 3M tape for a more clean look, what do you guys think? Plus aren't they much easier to steal then Last edited by stephano5; 08-30-2013 at 06:21 AM.. |

just drill new holesmhalf an inch or so inside the previous ones. license plates are quite thin and easy to drill with a cordless drill just put masing tape on the plate before you drill so the bit doesnt slide or scratch. the go to your local dealer and get some slim fit frameless covers. thats the easiest and cheapest way ive found for a sleek flush look.

Shit $200 for both brackets eep.
I didn't want my front bumper full of holes youraveragepunter, plus I thought of moving the bracket + license place on the side but that might be kinda wanky kinda off topic but I got my brake pads replaced last week. it needed a new sensor cause I ran the brake pads down to like 500km leftover. idrive is telling me for past week i have 90,000km left on the brake pads. that a glitch cause of mechanic or the sensor takes few thousand km to pick up on it? and, I keep buying LL01 oil from bmw dealership $25 for 1L. does anywhere else sell the special one for beamers? well you already have holes so two more just inside the original 2 (behind a number plate) wont hurt. even if you buy a special mount ( middle or side) you'll need to drill holes. theres no real way to mount plates without holes hence numberplates come with holes. holy schitt.... what a situation!
