Question about stereo

hey guys,
I bought my new in dash dvd here. I could not find a mounting kit around Vancouver here.
I am wondering if anybody know about this thing. and the price.
I am also thinking to get a sub and an amplifier. What u guys think ? which brand would be the best ?
Do u guys know any really good place for installation around Vancouver or Vancouver Island?
Any place have better deal ? or any website as well.
Thanks guys .

What stereo system you have in there right now??
Standard or Logic 7?

I doubt you will be able to install that TV at all. BMW is fiberoptic now and is a bitch. Unless you rewire everything. It's going to be a lot of work for sure.

With Logic 7 you cannot replace the headunit at all. Unless you not only rewire everything but also rip out the whole Logic 7 system. You could keep the speakers but they don´t work well with aftermarket amps since they require quite a lot of dedicated Equalizing and the right kind of crossovers. You definitely cannot wire an aftermarket headunit to the Logic7 DSP/amp because it uses the fiberoptic MOST-Bus for signals and controlling the amp and DSP. And no, in case you were going to ask, there are no adaptors to make an aftermarket hu work with the Logic 7. At least not now and I don´t expect any to come soon because of the complexity of the BUS.

The only thing you could do apart from ripping everything out and replacing it is:

You could have the factory headunit rewired to be placed in the glove compartment. Then you could put in a new headunit in the dash and wire its audio outputs into the Aux-input of the factory radio.

That´s a pretty lousy solution but the only way to make an aftermarket HU work with Logic 7.

Is that bloody screen really that important to you? With Logic 7 and the Professional Radio, you have a really great radio with MP3 capability, and Aux input for you Ipod and excellent stereo sound.
Why not enjoy the sound and the great driving the E90 provides and leave it as it is. A TV screen in a car is soooo boyish.

Not to play the headmaster here, but that sentence is so screwed up, it really is impossible to make out what you mean. Even on the internet it pays to put at least a little effort into your grammar.

I agree with tierfreund on everything he's just said.

Why in God's name do you need to watch TV or DVDs in your car.

Go out and drive the F'in thing!

I am planing down to States during the winter, so I need a Navigation system.
If I am going to rewire everything, do u know how much it gonna be?
I am thinking of JL with 2 -10 inch sub.
I am really like the logic7, it's a great system though! I don't want to get raid off it.
Thanks man

Thx
I had excellent experience with Ralph's on Main and 2nd.
However, don't forget the E90 is pretty new and most installers don't have much experience on them yet. Especially with the proprietary MOST fibreoptic system that the E90 uses.

The JL audio clean sweep would be ideal for you because you can connect the wires from the speakers. You would also keep your head unit. Go to JL audio.com
