E90 fob

Recently bought an E90 and the fob is not working so I have no RCL. The car was not used for over one and a half years so thats probably why the fob doesn't work. Was told it would take a week or so to charge the battery but its still not working after ten days. Any ideas what to do, I don't think its a convenient access fob as I can't see any way the back can be removed to reveal the battery.

I was told by the dealer when I purchased my car that if the battery died then the fob would become useless. He just told me to rotate the keys atleast every 6 months.
