Lightbulb Bilstein B12-Pro - getting it fitted

Having lived with the E92 M-sport suspension for 1yr now, I took it upon myself to seek out a good-value replacement. My priorities for the new suspension were a setup for a competent road car:

1. Improved control and traction over bumps
2. Improved ride comfort over bumps
3. Improved lateral grip over bumps
4. Improved cornering/turn-in/response/grip
4. Improved traction under acceleration/braking

I was not concerned with looks - so far as I was not looking to lower the ride height, and if so, only minimally over the existing M-Sport setup.

I didn't want to have the option/expense of an adjustable setup. 99.9% of all my driving is on UK roads. I'd rather have a reputed suspension company do the research and develop a matched spring+damper set.

I have settled on the Bilstein B12-pro kit. Thier online catalogue of all products is available here -

Having looked at various fitting options. I was not going to fit myself. I didn't even bother getting a quote from a franchised main dealer but did look at the Birds-Auto kit which is a customised version of the B12-pro kit but eventually ruled that option out on basis of cost (circa £1600 fitted for springs and dampers). I did also ring a couple of other garages - although they are good reputable places, they weren't sure of the fitting times so erred on the side of caution and were quoting around £900 just for the fitting, around £1500 all in.

I eventually found Thorney Motorsport - well reputed and have a centre at Silverstone which is just down the road from me - £980 supplied and fitted.

..waiting for a date from them, but hope to get done in next couple of weeks. Will report back and will get the before/after photos..!
