328i Slow crank only on warm start

My 2009 328i pauses during the middle of the first crank on a warm start. I have no issues starting it in the cold or after sitting more than 2-3 hours. It doesn't matter if I have driven for a long time or just a few miles just before starting it again.

I don't think it's starter or battery because I don't have issues starting any other time.

Sounds like a very weak battery, but it is not constant? Maybe the starter motor is on it's last legs?
