Can anyone help with Bluetooth Query?
Hi,
Wanted to set up my mums phone in her new E92 320i. I'm not sure which level of audio equipment she has in it. Its 2008 model and it has the weidescreen sat nav. I believe its i drive, looks like this: http://image.automobilemag.com/f/103...controller.jpg How can I connect the phone to the bluetooth? Im presuming it has bluetooth? When i try and find conenctions on her phone it says none can be found and I cant find a menu on the car screen to set up bluetooth. When I press the telephone button on the idrive console or on the steering wheel nothing seems to happen? Am I doing something wrong or is this because the car does not infact have bluetooth in it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

The car does not have Bluetooth if you cannot find the option under "Telephone" from the i-Drive front menu.

Go into settings menu on idrive. Then communications. Go into Bluetooth and make sure the box is checked and blutooth is on. Now go into the other menu for the phone and it should read something like devices discoverable in this menu. Turn on phone Bluetooth, and pair with your phone. It will ask for a code but make one up but make sure you mirror that code when idrive asks for it.
If the phone has not been paired the telephone button on the wheel will do nothing. |

I'm assuming none of the above is showing otherwise he would have found it. BT pairing is a piece of piss so I suspect the options simply aren't there because BT is not fitted.

thanks for the responses. I'll have a double check tonight but i have a feeling then maybe it doesnt have it which is a bummer. Is it possible to have it fitted otherwise? Price roughly?

It's not SO bad as having pro media you have a lot of the bits already but it'll still be three hundred quid or so. It does work brilliantly though.

do you know where I can purchase the bits needed other than bmw? I did a google but couldnt find anything. Looked on caraudio security website and coudln't find an oem intergration either
I would'nt mine paying that sort of money to have it fitted xenon as its worth it imo. Its actualyl for my mums car. Would be good if I could get it working. |
