My mini-mini-CSL

Okay, since I'm a huge Macross fan and I might be PCSing to Japan in the the Winter, I've decided to sell my off my collection(expecting $4000). Reaching $2500 in a week I put down for a Seibon CF Hood, CSL trunk, M3 Rep and OEM M-Tech rear kit.

My M3 Rep is in my garage, next will be my hood, then rear bumper and CSL trunk. I plan on getting Foregstar F14s as well to lighten the load. I'm waiting for a quote from TNT for parts installation and "full" repaint in that snazzy M5 Monte Carlo Blue Metallic. Hopefully I can get what I want, or else I'm stuck with Space Grau Metallic and losing my car among the sea of gray cars.

Why am I doing this? Why not make my car faster? Those questions are probably what some of you are asking. Well, the reason why is because I am PCSing, and if I can get to Japan I plan on taking my E90 over there since I don't want to leave it here and make payments while not enjoying the vehicle(plus it's left-hand drive so it'll be cool driving on the opposite side of the road). Japan has a weight tax, so I figured to make things easier when I register my vehicle there, I'll put it on a diet. It may or may not be a meaningful thing to do, but just shaving off more than 50lbs off OEM curb weight is worth it in itself. I plan on getting it into the shop after the ALMS in Laguna Seca, so stay tuned for this. I'll post pics soon enough.

P.S. Expect to see my OEM parts up FS not long after I get it into the shop. My front bumper and hood are brand new with less than 5k miles.

I thought about bringing my E90 to Japan as well, but I bought an R33 GT-R V-Spec over there instead. i had hopes of bringing that back over, but could not find the right channels to get it legally registered in California. the fun of owning a car that you will likely never have in the US and driving a manual right-hand drive car was what pushed me not to bring the E90. another thing to consider is that Japan is full of toll roads. unless you have a passenger, it will be very difficult to pay driving a left-hand drive car. but enjoy your time there. where are you getting stationed?

Actually, a lot of left-handers started popping up when I left 3 years ago when I was stationed out of Atsugi. Toll booths now have left-hand booths too. I feel somewhat tempted to buy an M135 and bringing back here LOL! When I get it over there pending the 3rd of April, I plan on doing a blog on this site. Can't wait to drive on the Fuji-Hakone Skyline again.

Got my car into the shop today , had to keep it local since TNT is a bit far removed to facilitate convenient drop off and pick up of original and aftermarket parts besides the vehicle. The body shop I went to is pretty much around the corner of my house and I received a quote for $2500(including dent and paint repair), not counting skirts. Anyways, here's some pics of the parts I have, my car in stock form is in my album. Still waiting on skirts(Rieger-reps), DD CF diffuser and Seibon CSL trunk(on backorder )

M3 Rep with fog delete. Got it off eBay after much research.

OEM MSport Rear from Tischer, sans diffuser(any takers?).

Here is my CF hood I ordered from a vendor off eBay located close to Seibon's distribution site not far from my hometown.

After reviewing their portfolio and a lengthy chat with the owner, I'm placing all my confidence on his shop, Vaca Valley Auto Body, to treat my car right. I will be receiving pictures as the work is done, hopefully I can get them starting Monday when most of the panels will be popped off. Stay tuned! My first step in modding my car, and no it will not stop!

Good to know, I'm still trying to get stationed out there! CC Lemon is the shit! Best thing is YAKI NIKU and SHABU SHABU! Definitely looking forward to getting my car over there, just gotta find some BMW J-Enthusiasts. Looking forward to heading over there on vacation this summer.

Got back from the shop with my car. Here's some pics:

They didn't want to drill for the grommet so they let me decide, so when I go back for the rear bumper once the diffuser comes it they'll probably end up using epoxy or some other strong adhesive. I wanted them to leave some of the CF exposed around the grommet as a little halo, hopefully when the grommet gets installed it looks good and I have no issues with it, or else I'll have to go in for a blend around the badge.

A quick shot from the side.

Head on, maybe it's the angle, but I had to tweak the parts at the shop since it's all aftermarket you can see some uneven gaps. The risk of aftermarket, but a good job over all and the paint job hasn't skipped a beat and it's all nice and blended. The first half is done, now I just have to wait for the rears and the skirts and that damnable backordered CSL trunk. I'll probably end up tweaking it myself when I go to the autohobby shop to install a new mud flap.

I had to get the holes filled in, but I'd say it fit well. 9/10! Only thing that sucks is that shipping isn't free.
