Dear Forum Members,

I have an 07 e92 coupe with 19'' BBS Lm-Rs... 245/265 set up.

I was thinking a 1inch drop would make the ride complete. I want to close out the wheel gap but not slam it too hard. I daily drive it and don't want it to be a hassle.

I'm not really mod car parts savvy and usually need several opinions and advice before I make a decision.. so i was wondering if any of you out there have dropped 1 inch, which springs/set up you used, how much it costed, and what the ride quality became like?

I'd like to avoid full shocks and springs or coil overs and sneak by with a 1inch drop on just springs.. so I guess that's more of my question.

you can do eibach pro kit springs, some people say they're pretty good on stock sports shocks.

or you can get the yellow bmw performance springs that just recently came out for our cars.

both of these springs have a mild drop of around 1/2 to an inch.

have you dropped 1 inch with those springs? hows the ride quality? any need for shocks or no?

i'm looking for the best set up for a .8 rear drop, 1 inch in the front, without having to buy shocks.

also, is this gonna void warranty?

i havent ordered anything just yet but i do plan on buying the bmw performance suspension (kit with yellow springs) along with all the m3 parts pretty soon.

imo, you should invest in everything all at once so you dont need to change your shocks later on. i know it's a lil pricey just to lower your car just a little bit but do it right the first time so you dont need to hassle on finding new shocks after theyre blown.

if you're worried about warranty, just stick with OEM (performance kit and springs) and you'll still have the current warranty for it (correct me if im wrong though).

but if u really insist on getting just springs alone, i guess the bmw yellow springs or eibach pro springs may work out well on the sports shocks since they just drop the car an inch or so.

hmm.. yea that's what ive heard from countless other people, do it all at once and do it right.

Just get Eibach Pro springs ~$230. They lower your car about one inch. H&R Sport will go even lower. Install is around $200-300. Alignment $100-150. Ride will be a tad firmer than stock, but not harsh. The look of a lowered BMW....priceless

I was looking at doing the same.. whats the cost on the BMW kit.. i was considering the H&R kit but the like 1.5- 2 inch drop.. and i would probably need new shocks if i did that..

If you go with an H&R Sport Spring upgrade, they advertise a 1.3" drop in the front and a 1.2" drop in the rear without sport suspension.

If you have sport suspension, your drop will be less then the advertised rates above. For my customers who are looking to just do a mild drop on their cars while staying within a very reasonable budget, this is what I recommend them.

If your car does not have sport suspension however, I would go with the Eibach Pro Kit like others have suggested, because it will only lower your car about 1.0" in the front and 0.8" in the rear.

Thanks Andy for the clarification.. i do have sport package.. and i wish i lived in Cali.. i have stated many times its seem like bimmer heaven out there.

Here is mine lowered exactly 1 inch with Bilstein PSS10
