The power of ONR - pics attached

So it was a warm 28 degrees today with a 14 degree windchill. Sounds like perfect weather to clean the car after a couple of months of winter and salt here in NY. Here's a few pics displaying the power of ONR in these extreme weather conditions:

Here's some befores showing just how dirty the car was. A complete disaster with dirt and salt galore:

Now to get to work.
With this much gunk on the car, it's important to do a presoak with ONR at a highly concentrated dilution:

Using the two bucket method with warm water (one rinse bucket and one with ONR solution). Home Depot Grout Sponge also being used

And here's some 50/50 shots of ONR at work:

After a few panels, the water began to freeze on the car. So I pulled it into he garage and continued work.

And here's the afters:

The process left no marring, swirls or scratches of any kind. I checked under halogens just to make sure

Thanks for looking

get it from detailedimage.com, one of e90post's sponsors.

It is a good thing I bought this stuff last week, but was a little skeptical at first.

Daym that stuff works well.

Also, I'd suggest you wash your undercarriage as well. It is galvanized but some parts are not and they would rust faster.

Anyways...

Another ONR believer.

I am going on 3 weeks without a wash right now. Normally, I'd ONR, but I feel like it's too damn cold even for an ONR wash. Nice to see some inspiration.

Love ONR. Use it all the time, not because its cold, but because its easy. Luckily I have a warm garage to wash my car in :P

For anyone interested, there's a week left on our ONR sale, which has it for 25% off! Also be sure to use your e90post discount code for any additional items you pick up to get 10% off.

If anyone has any questions on ONR or anything else, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks for sharing your results Raz! Looks great

Thanks for all the kind words. ONR can be used anytime of the year and in pretty much any temperature. It's so easy to use, you'll want to use it all year round anyway.

I'm running low, so I think I'll pick up some more from George before the sale is over.

BK, why don't you pull the car into the garage and throw a small space heater in there?

I love ONR. One of the greatest products out there. I ordered the 128oz. jug from George at detailed image. Smart idea with the presoak!! I have done this in the past on a really dirty car. I try and get over to the touch free and use a low mist on the car first to get rid of the major debris. Then pull it into the garage, let it "thaw out" for a couple of hours then use ONR. Seems to work best for me. Also, good idea to have a dedicated wash mitt for ONR since it gets so dirty!!

FMINUS uses it all the time. If it is good enough for him, it's good enough for me!

makes my garage floor all dirty which is why i don't like using ONR. my floor's pretty level so the water just sits there. it's a mess to clean up

The next house will have a huge garage. I've suffered too long without one! I live in a nice neighborhood, but the houses were built in the 50's. Apparently, they didn't care about garages back then. For serious details and polishing, I use my parents' garage -- they live nearby. But for regular washing, I just do it outside.

Today, despite the cold, I ONR-ed my wheels and wheel wells. Also polished the exhaust tips. It's supposed to snow over the next few days, so I didn't bother washing the whole car, but I couldn't stand the brake dust or soot any longer.

Probably a dumb question, but why use a rinse bucket? I thought it's "no rinse."

I do love the stuff, though. I use a garden sprayer w/ONR to pre-soak.

To keep the wash media clean and clear of anything that could mar the paint. FWIW, I don't use two buckets with ONR, but you should use whatever technique you're comfortable with. Using ONR at all requires a leap of faith.

I find that a grit guard and a Lowe's grout sponge works great. I've never had any marring issues with ONR, and I have a black car and halogens, so I'd definitely notice.

Yup, I was sceptical when I first tried it too. But the proof is in the pudding!

As for the rinse bucket, I do it as a precautionary measure. It's not required. I actually refreshed both buckets half way through mostly because of the amount of crap on my car. This also is not required, but not a bad idea when the car is very dirty like mine was.
