There's no way that I can see myself getting in the 1.5s though.

Yep at dragstrip right now testing 6at v4 maps. I never quite realized how much I left on the table before. StartupJunkie let me borrow his 6at while he is in Germany for the week. So this is my first time running a 6at at the track. OMG it's so easy compared to the 6mt.
Since the last time at the track, it is now running my Hoosiers. Which means that no more wussy 2nd gear launches. Been running 60' of 1.60-1.68 repeatably. Datalogs are funny. Wait until you see then. Best et so far is 11.77@122. Traps haven't varied by more than 0.5mph. There's another 335 here running a jb3. Also a 6at and also doing very well. Good conditions today. High 50s. Good prep for the first time too! Shiv |

Ridin135 - You can see the mods in my signature.
Shiv - thanks for running the car. I'm glad you're able to launch in 1st gear, my other tire setup was not so good for that (1.6x vs. my high 1.7x-1.8x) Everyone - I'm in love with the 135 wagons (2d and 4d - though the lines on the 4 door look slightly odd) ... IN FLAT BLACK!!!!! I'll get some pics. Also the BMW Museum in Munich is free and worth the visit ... BMW World was only so-so. I'm out of town for another week ... maybe Shiv can finish those updates by then. Junk

The secret is being able to build 11psi of boost, at a standstill, by brake torquing. V4 has a few secrets up it's sleeve.
And then, of course a set of fully heated up Hoosiers capable of putting it down. It is sure can! Shiv |

What is the difference between the map that you are using with junkie and the map that you were using when you ran the 11.5? I would assume that they are the same no?
You would think that junkie would run a faster time and trpa faster since he's an AT.

So what. he's getting a 1.61 60' without an LSD.
An LSD isn't going to do anything with a faster trap.

Maps are very similar. But this was run on a 6at map. And mine was understandably run on a 6mt map. And as most know, we roll off the boost above 6000rpm to prevent misfire and shifting shenanigans. So that doesn't help with traps when compared to a 6mt that holds 18psi to 6500rpm.
Also, there is no reason to think that 6ats are faster than 6mt assuming good driving in both scenarios. At these high power levels, the 6at transmission is certainly sucking up power. I think 6ats are easier to get fast and quick, but a best possible run on a 6mt will be faster and quicker all things equal. The downside is that a 6mt driver needs a lot of runs to get a "best possible" run. And often this isn't feasible, requires proper car prep, fast-as-he'll shifting and absolutely no mistakes. Dragracing a 6at is a walk in the park by comparison. Shiv ps. This car does have an LSD. See startupjunkie sig for all mods, suspension and otherwise. |

Shiv are you break boosting to about 1500 rpms? I find if I push more then 1500 rpms off a start then the car begins to roll forward a bit even if I am jamming my foot on the break. Also after you release the brake are you flat our flooring it?

Thats about what happens to mine. Hence my terrible 60' times. I think I am the only one in the drag times top ten with 1.844-1.919 sec sixty foot times, LOL. I think one of the keys to consistant good launches is a LSD.

Logs show full throttle brake boosting for just under 2 seconds. Engine holds 2800rpm and boost builds to 11.2psi. Let go of the brake and whammo... It takes off

Damn, the JB3 cust did a 11.71 (1.68 60') with no Posi, no seat removal and using Nittos? Is the track prep excellent today?
