For reference, on the old v4 maps, I peaked at 5000 rpm, sustained 400whp to 6000 rpm and still maintained 375 whp at redline. You're around 325whp at redline, to put things in perspective. That probably has more to do with the somewhat conservative boost curve up top for your setup, but I understand why he did it. The peak number is somewhat misleading as it took 18-19 psi to get there. Those stock dps won't last long under sustained heat at high boost levels.

Good observation! That's one thing I actually kind of enjoy about the newer maps.......you get a lot of grunt down low and don't have to wind out the engine to get pull. But yes.....weaker up top. Guess it depends what part of the powerband you like to live in, but personally, I feel this map takes advantage of what turbo engines do best.....provide gobs of low end torque. So it's working with the advantage of a turbocharged platform in the first place. |

A straight on shot is going to appear to show more movement of the needle and will technically cover a larger degree of angles. In the ops vid and side camera angle, it is going to appear the gauge is moving less because of the perspective. I think that is why his car appears to be slower vs a straight on video of the speedometer. |

I thought MBT occurs around 15 degrees of advance? Didn't Cobb use exhaust probes to measure EGT's? |

I'm located in the San Francisco bay, altitude is around 400 feet so I don't think that could affect it greatly. And ya the angle on my video makes it seem a little slower. It is much easier to see the movement of the needles on your video.

Hey man, all i'm going to say is good vids...keep'em coming...people need to do more racing and bringing vids/pics of that action on here instead of shit threads like what intake to get and if BOV is better than DV...i can't believe we still get stuff like that 3.5 years later with literally hundreds of posts on the topic
when doing 60-130 you want minimal number of shifts on your 6MT, so start in 3rd at 3.5k rpm and do a fast shift at 6100rpm into 4th, not past that with stock turbos, no point |

Problem is on a 6at it's a required 2 shifts (3-4 and 4-5) so the auto may outperform a manual in the quarter mile, but get killed by the manual in the 60-130.

For 60-130, what dzenno said. I was talking about a roll on from 40 mph.

2 things already been said.
Shift earlier, ~ 6100 RPM For 60-130 times its best to start your run at 40 MPH, that way you already have momentum going. Likely starting in 3rd gear would be the best approach. If I somehow make it to mexico i'll get some runs in that are similar. Tune/DCI/Meth setup (we'll see how it compares). |

I might have to make a trip to Mexico as well. I just got a new go pro and haven't had a chance to use it. I know the first time I use it... it's going to fly off and get ran over.

Just wipe the area with rubbing alcohol. You should be good to go after that. |
