Thumbs up ACS roof spoiler

Hey guys I'm thinking about buying an ACS roof spoiler off of ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-07...07869182QQrdZ1 ) but I have to get it painted. Is there any way I can paint it myself instead of taking to a paint shop? I mean the unit is not huge.

I need advice on this since I obviously know very little about painting cars.

Thanks.

depends on how well you can color match and how patient you are. Unless you're an experienced auto painter I doubt you'll do as a good a job as a body shop.

if you want it painted... imo buy replica parts from "confirmed" sellers--sellers who have been known to sell quality products in terms of fitment and painting.

CarKing paints their ACS replica roof spoilers.

If you are worried about paint match we do offer painted roof and lip spoilers using factory paint that is guaranteed to match.

I got mine from Brad. Cartuningking. There's a thread on him in the Vendor Reviews thread. Highly recommend it. Perfect fitment/paint for a great price. This is only if your looking for a replica though. I'm sure JLEVI's spoilers are just as good.

I would recommend very, very highly that you do not do it yourself. I mean, really, if you had a hand-me-down Civic, I might suggest it if you were planning on only beating on it. But grabbing some spray paint and clear coat from the local PepBoys will result in a terrible job, similar to that chalkboard you remember from class. Sure, there are people out there that can do nice work with a spray can, but just spend that little extra once to get it done right.

With the last car, I had a Caractere kit installed on my wife's Jetta, and we decided to take it to a higher end body shop (with ref's). We were so happy, ended up paying about 10-20% more that I would have expected at a run of the mill body shop, but there absolutely no doubts about quality, finish, or fit. It looked OEM until the day we traded in that Jetta for the 335.
