As it turns out the demo F31 is the same colour and similar spec to the one I've ordered. Including the 19s. I've only done a few miles around Sheffield's terrible roads and I'm so impressed. The ride is light years ahead of my E91. I don't think I have to worry about the wheels.

What mpg are you getting, my test drive was a bit disappointing in that area.

Christ knows. I'm still in booting it mode. And I doubt that will have worn off before I give it back. Quickest quarter tank I've ever used

No decent prices on the F31 unfortunately.

I decided I'd been a little too vocal about my last car and the circumstances around its return. Politics mate.

A little update. The 330d seems to have passed the first test. I haven't been near the BMW car config thing since I handed back the F31 on Tuesday. My order is obviously perfect! When I ordered the E91 I still buggered about with the online spec right up until the last moment. I'll be honest, there was always a bit too much space under the bonnet for my liking.

Also, I thought I'd post up my recent car history.

Up until September 11th there was obviously this...

Then from 11/9 until 3/12 there was this...

A Mini One Convertible as a service loan car. Apart from it being a convertible this was a great little car. Comfortable and certainly quick enough around town. I'd certainly recommend the One to anyone.

3/12 until 4/12...

The F31 330d M Sport demo. Lovely, lovely, lovely. The engine is just superb and again, I can't tell you how well it rides. This one had the standard M Sport set up and not the adaptive I've ordered and apart from a little tramlining on the 19" run flats I couldn't fault it.

A couple of other things while playing with the new iDrive (for the gadget freaks), it now plays mp4 from a USB...

...and the Sport Display thing is rather cool (sorry about the flash)...

And so now onto the most recent.

A Mini Cooper Coupe. I've got this until Monday when BMW put me in another E91 until my new F30 comes. Monday can't come quick enough. I'm not sure if Mini do something to the suspension on the Coopers over the One but it's awful. Add some low profile 17" rubber and the ride and steering are truly dreadful. Plus it looks shit. But hey, there's a button to make the spoiler go up and down...

Another update.

I got a call from the dealer saying the car from BMW had arrived and would I like to pop back with the Coupe and pick it up? Remember, this is the car I'm driving for free until my car arrives in February. I'm sitting at the service desk with Scott and I notice the key on his desk. I say "Is it a new one?" He says "Yes" and leads me outside to this (sorry about the crappy pic)

I'm still in shock. It's a brand new 320d F31 Sport with Sports Auto, Business Nav, leather, tints, heated seats, extended storage, you name it. 140 miles on the clock which is roughly Oxford (where it came from) to here.

Unbelievable service from BMW UK and Sytner Sheffield! I was expecting a beat up E91 rental which to be honest I'd have been happy with. I'm speechless.

Still low at the moment as I reset everything when I picked it up and I've only done a few miles so far.

Sounds like you are being looked after and what a nice car to have until your car arrives.

I will be picking up a car from Sytner in Sunningdale on Friday and will have it until our X6 arrives. Have to admit that Sytner seem to be one of the better dealers around.

Sytner Sunningdale weren't interested in doing a deal when I enquired about one of their used F30 offering literally 2k below the list p/x I was looking for my E90, Halliwell Jones Southport on the other hand gave me the p/x price I wanted, the right price to swap and threw in a service package on the F30 as I currently have one on the E90, roll on the 22nd!

Btw to the OP I look forward to seeing pictures of your new car when it arrives.

If ever a car needed xenons / visibility pack it's the F3x. Those plasticky halogen reflectors look like they're from a Kia Sorrento.

Just fyi, the red interior trim is not at all like it appears in the photos!

I used to sell these things and my understanding is that the suspension is all the same across the board apart from Cooper S and JCW.[/QUOTE]

The Coupe chassis is very stiff and I found that when I drove one, you'd be surprised at how well a MINI does ride with the 15" wheels, does this Coupe have RFT's by any chance?

Also when I was there not many sold......

I think it does look better in M Sport trim and with Xenons.
